A method is disclosed for automatically selecting a scanning protocol for a tomographic recording of an X-ray image of a patient in that at least one patient-specific value is retrieved in the internal memory of a first computer. The patient-specific value can in particular be a measure of the anticipated X-ray absorption by the patient. The method includes automatically comparing the patient-specific value with retrievably stored reference values, wherein one scanning protocol can be associated with each reference value. Finally, a scanning protocol is automatically selected by way of the first computer using the comparison. Selection is simplified by automation of selection of the scanning protocol since no manual selection of the scanning protocol has to be made. Automatic selection of a suitable scanning protocol is also quicker than a manual selection.

Method and system for the automatic selection of a scanning protocol

A method and a system are disclosed for computed tomography illustration of the movement of a heart in the cardiac cycle with the aid of a spiral CT. In the method, a patient is administered a contrast medium via an electronically controllable apparatus. A stationary prescan of a cardiac artery is carried out in order to determine the sufficient filling of the artery with the automatically applied contrast medium. When a sufficient contrast medium filling is detected, the current heart rate of the heart being examined is measured, and a maximum possible feed rate for a spiral scan and a duration of the spiral scan are determined on the basis of the current heart rate. Subsequently, the spiral scan is carried out over the heart region with the maximum possible feed rate.

Method and system for computed tomography illustration of the movement of a heart

Provided is a method for generating views of tomographic image data. At least one view of an object area is generated by image filtering from tomographic CT image data by using a modulation transfer function and coordinate information. A filter algorithm is used for the image filtering and, if appropriate, further view parameters required for generating the view may be stored in a view file assigned to the CT image data. The view file is called up, and the filter algorithm as well as, if appropriate, the further view parameters are applied to the CT image for the purpose of renewed generation of the view.

Method for reproducibly generating views of tomographic image data

A method and a tomographic system are disclosed for displaying tomographic records of a patient. In at least one embodiment, the method includes scanning the patient with the aid of a tomographic system having one system axis, determining at least one topogram, calculating three-dimensional image data records including a multiplicity of slice images on a plane or volume data records, and outputting at least one slice image of the patient. In at least one embodiment, the orientation of individual body zones relative to the system axis of the tomographic system is automatically determined from the at least one topogram, and slice images of the body zones are calculated from the three-dimensional image data records, the slice planes of which are at a defined solid angle to the previously determined orientation of the scanned body zones.

Method, tomography system and image processing system for displaying tomographic records of a patient

In a method to test a clinical and/or medical-technical system and a method for controlling medical-technical examination workflows in a clinical and/or medical-technical system, medical examination workflows in the appertaining system are simulated. For this purpose, a process workflow plan is selected from a number of process workflow plans dependent on an examination task, each of the process workflow plans including a number of linked process units with which system component of the system are respectively associated. Each process workflow plan also includes an input parameter set, an output parameter set and a transfer function that is dependent on the examination task and/or the associated system component. Respective output parameter values and/or performance data for the individual process units are then determined from a number of input parameter values for the appertaining process units on the basis of the transfer function. Respective output parameter values of a process unit are used as input parameter values for a subsequent process unit within the process workflow plan.

Method for testing and controlling workflows in a clinical system and/or components thereof

A system is disclosed for generating, evaluating and distributing computer-tomographical 4D representations of the heart of a patient. The system includes a cardio CT appliance, where a first low-resolution reconstruction of cardio recordings in a multiplicity of cycle phases of the cardiac cycle and subsequent volume rendering of these cardio recordings for 3D representation and examination of the clarity of motion of the representation in the individual cycle phases are performed. This representation is used to select one or two cycle phases with a relatively reduced or even minimal lack of clarity of motion. High-resolution representations of the heart are reconstructed for these selected one or two cycle phases, with the computation and control unit transmitting only the high-resolution representations of the selected cycle phases with a relatively reduced lack of clarity of motion to the at least one workstation as still images, and the workstation being used to perform the evaluation.
