A system and method is provided for producing a hydrocarbon fluid from a subterranean environment. The system and method utilize an electric submersible pumping system having a motive unit comprising a combined submersible motor section and protector section.

System and method for a combined submersible motor and protector

A pumping system including a first section and a second section. The first section includes a first housing having an axial bore formed therethrough and a protruding member formed on one end of the first housing, and a first shaft arranged within the axial bore of the first housing. The second section include a second housing having an axial bore formed therethrough and a recess formed on one end of the second housing for receiving the protruding member of the first housing, and a second shaft arranged within the axial bore of the second housing. An apparatus for compensating oil volume change in a motor, including a compensator housing having an open end for connecting to the motor, and a closed end; and a flexible bladder arranged within the housing and connected to the open end of the housing.

The system utilizes kinetic energy in the form of a rapidly and repetitively moving component that imparts energy in the form of heat to surrounding fluid. The system is particularly useful in applications, such as downhole pumping systems, used to produce hydrocarbon-based fluids from beneath the surface of the earth.

Technique for facilitating the pumping of fluids by lowering fluid viscosity

A dual submergible pumping system permits pumping of fluids from separate zones within a narrowly confined wellbore without commingling of fluids. The system includes a single deployment tubing from which a first and second submergible pumping system are suspended. The system further includes a fluid transport system having one fluid flow path defined by the hollow interior of the deployment tubing and a second fluid flow path isolated from the first flow path.

Dual electric submergible pumping systems for producing fluids from separate reservoirs

A system allows the pumping of viscous fluids from a wellbore. The system includes a submergible pump and a pump intake through which a fluid may be drawn. A submergible electric motor powers the submergible pump, and a heater is connected in the pumping system to heat the wellbore fluid. Additionally, a combination of heaters may be employed to heat the desired production fluid both externally to the pumping system and internally to the pumping system.
