Composite article comprising an injected hollow body or a solid body based on at least one plastic A, reinforced by at least one bundle of continuous reinforcing fibers, the bundle being wound externally at its surface, substantially perpendicular to its axis, as well as by reinforcing fibers dispersed within it, substantially parallel to its axis, and continuous process for manufacturing it.

Composite article and process for manufacturing it

Process for manufacturing a composite article comprising a solid body reinforced by winding at least one reinforcing tape around the solid body. The reinforcing tape deposited on the solid body is subjected to a constant tensile force. Downstream of the point where it comes into contact with the solid body, this reinforcing tape is consolidated by a local pressure. The invention also relates to a device for the manufacture of such reinforced composite articles.

Process and device for manufacturing a reinforced composite article

Thermoplastic material comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer and 1 to 1000 ppm (by weight) of at least one substance which substantially absorbs infrared radiation, such as carbon black. The reinforcement-fibre bundles impregnated with a thermoplastic polymer, in accordance with the invention, are particularly advantageous for reinforcing pipes by filament winding.

Composite thermoplastic material and method of manufacturing articles

Multilayer composites coextruded with the use of polyolefins and of impact-reinforced impervious resin compositions based on hydrolysed copolymers of vinyl acetate and ethylene comprising, as an additive improving the impact strength, elastomeric copolymers of ethylene and propylene which are modified by grafting an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and, preferably, by maleic anhydride. The coextruded multilayer composites are very particularly suitable for the manufacture of fuel storage vessels combining impact strength and high imperviousness to petrol and to petrol/alcohol mixtures.
