An optical surface-mount device has a dielectric body and a solderable support connected with the dielectric body to facilitate solder reflow mounting of the device to a printed circuit board. The device can include a reflector or other functional features that enhance or protect the functionality of an electronic component mounted on the same printed circuit board.

Optical surface-mount devices

A decorative optical element that has an appearance of a glass optical element includes an optically transparent body having a faceted globular portion defined by a solid volume of polymeric material. A luminaire, such as for a street light, employs the decorative optical element and an LED circuit board mounted to the circuit board.

A one-piece molded lens member for use with a plurality of LEDs in a luminaire includes a generally planar base portion having an upper surface and a lower surface and a plurality of optical structures arranged in rows and columns on the base portion, each optical structure having a hemispheroidal section extending upwardly from the upper surface of the base portion and a first hemicylindrical section extending upwardly from the lower surface of the base portion and from a side of the hemispheroidal section, the optical structure having upper surfaces contiguous with the upper surfaces of the base portion.

LED luminaire

A rear automotive lamp assembly is provided replicating the appearance of a plurality of distinct illumination sources, such as light emitting diodes. The lamp assembly having a light source, at least one reflector, the reflectors having reflective surfaces, the reflective surfaces operable to reflect light from the light source. The reflectors spaced apart and oriented such that light rays from the light source are incident to each of the reflective surfaces are reflected towards a viewing direction. A shield further disposed between the light source and the reflective surface of the reflector. The shield including a plurality of open sections or cutouts thereby allowing a generally collimated light beam from the light source to shine on the reflective surface such that each of the reflective surfaces of the at least one reflector appears as a distinct illumination source from the viewing direction. The openings vary in size and dimension along the length of the shield.

A dual direction light pipe includes a first section having a first set of prisms oriented to reflect a portion of the light within the first section of the light pipe in a first direction and a second section having a second set of prisms oriented to reflect a portion of the light within the second section of the light pipe in a second direction.

Dual-direction light pipe for automotive lighting

A modular automotive light device is provided. The light device may include multiple light emitting diodes (LED). Multiple light devices may be arranged in a desired manner comprising an automotive headlamp, for example. The light devices may be stacked on top of each other and/or positioned side by side to form the headlamp. Using multiple light devices provides a sufficient amount of radiated light rays in order to comply with regulations and standards for light output of light devices for use on the exterior of an automobile, for example.

Apparatus and method for providing a modular vehicle light device

A lighting device for a vehicle running board. The lighting device includes an enclosure and a light source coupling mechanism. A light source is coupled to the light source coupling mechanism. A first lens has a plurality of optical elements. The first lens is coupled to the lighting device enclosure. A second lens having optical elements may be provided. Light emanating from the light source is directed by the plurality of optical elements and substantially along the vehicle running board.
