A polymeric film, multiple-compartment, pouch having an internal frangible seal for confining a fluid and related beverage container with a re-closable fitment for storing and delivering two different flavored liquids or the like. The frangible seal of the clear plastic pouch will burst when sustained squeezed thus allowing the flavors to swirl and mix within the pouch.

The present invention provides a heat-sealable polyester composition having an amorphous processing window ranging from a Tg in the range of about 40&#xb0; C. to about 70&#xb0; C., to a Tcg in the range of about 70&#xb0; C. to about 150&#xb0; C. The composition preferably contains a mixture of poly(ethylene terephthalate) homopolymer or copolymer and poly(trimethylene terephthalate) homopolymer or copolymer, either as a physical blend or as a copolyester oligomer or polymer prepared from the respective monomers. The resulting composition is heat-sealable at low temperatures, retains barrier properties and is non-flavor-scalping.

The present invention provides a heat-sealable polyester composition having an amorphous processing window ranging from a Tg in the range of about 40&deg; C. to about 70&deg; C., to a Tcg in the range of about 70&deg; C. to about 150&deg; C. The composition preferably contains a mixture of poly(ethylene terephthalate) homopolymer or copolymer and poly(trimethylene terephthalate) homopolymer or copolymer, either as a physical blend or as a copolyester oligomer or polymer prepared from the respective monomers. A peelably sealed package includes a web having a peelable layer and a substrate having a surface layer. The peelable layer includes a blend of: i) from about 3 to about 15 weight parts polybutylene, ii) from about 40 to about 75 weight parts ionomer, and iii) from about 20 to about 55 weight parts ethylene/unsaturated ester copolymer such as a vinyl ester of aliphatic carboxylic acid or an alkyl ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid. The surface layer of the substrate includes a polyethylene having a density of from about 0.915 to about 0.93 g/cc, an ionomer, or a mixture of these polymers. The peelable layer of the web and the surface layer of the substrate are peelably sealed to each other in one or more selected areas. The peelable layer may form a peelable seal having a peel strength that is essentially equivalent regardless of whether the contact surface of the substrate is a polyethylene or an ionomer.

The present invention relates generally to multi-phase compositions comprising: 1. an aromatic/aliphatic copolyester substantially continuous phase; and 2. a low modulus polymeric substantially discontinuous phase.
