In accordance with the present invention there is provided an oil-in-water emulsion sunscreen composition comprising (a) a UV active, (b) a first emulsifier having an HLB value less than 5 and (c) optionally a second emulsifier having an HLB value greater than 5 present in an amount of less than 0.2% w/w of the composition. The oil-in-water sunscreen composition is characterized by the absence of an emulsifiable polymer and is capable of providing little to no whitening when applied to wet skin.

Sun-care products are described that protect from UV radiation and do not turn white when applied to wet skin. The sun-care product may comprise (A) a cosmetically-acceptable, substantially non-aqueous vehicle, and (B) a UV active, wherein said non-aqueous vehicle comprises alcohol in an amount of 50% (w/w) or less based on the weight of the sun-care product and an ester wherein said non-aqueous vehicle comprises at least 10%&#x3e;by weight esters based on the total weight of the non-aqueous vehicle and said sun-care product is substantially non-whitening upon application to wet skin.

Clear wet sprays and gels

A non-alcoholic fragrance carrier with good fragrance solubility, product stability and clarity, and silky, non-tacky rub out when applied to the skin. Glycereth-7-triacetate is used for solubilization of fragrance oil into a non-alcohol water system. The ultimate fragrance carrier product is, e.g., a perfume or cologne composition, and contains a reduced overall surfactant level and reduced overall solids level. The composition thus minimizes the use of ingredients which tend to adversely affect evaporation rates, skin feel, rub-out time, and product turbidity.
