Methods of forming a glass article are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of forming a glass article includes translating a pulsed laser beam on a glass substrate sheet to form a laser damage region between a first surface and a second surface of the glass substrate sheet. The method further includes applying an etchant solution to the glass substrate sheet to remove a portion of the glass substrate sheet about the laser damage region. The method may further include strengthening the glass substrate sheet by an ion-exchange strengthening process, and coating the glass substrate sheet with an acid-resistant coating. Also disclosed are methods where the laser damage region has an initial geometry that changes to a desired geometry following the reforming of the glass substrate sheet such that the initial geometry of the laser damage region compensates for the bending of the glass substrate sheet.

Methods of fabricating glass articles by laser damage and etching

A glass article including: at least one anti-glare surface having haze, distinctness-of-image, surface roughness, and uniformity properties, as defined herein. A method of making the glass article includes, for example, depositing sacrificial particles on a surface of the article; and contacting the resulting particulated surface with an etchant. A display system that incorporates the glass article, as defined herein, is also disclosed.

Anti-glare surface treatment method and articles thereof

Methods for assembling an optoelectronic device are provided. The optoelectronic device includes a first transparent substrate, a second substrate, and environmentally sensitive components. The methods comprise the step of applying a fill material to a surface of at least one of the substrates, and lowering a viscosity of the fill material. The methods further comprise the step of pressing the first transparent substrate and the second substrate together such that the fill material substantially fills an area between the first transparent substrate and the second substrate and substantially encapsulates exposed portions of the environmentally sensitive components. The methods still further comprise the step of sealing the first transparent substrate and the second substrate together to hermetically seal the fill material within the area.

Method for assembling an optoelectronic device

Disclosed is a method of forming a structured sintered article including providing a mixture comprising a sinterable particulate material and a binder, the binder comprising, as a function of total resin content of the binder, at least 50% by weight of a thermoplastic binder material and at least 5% by weight of a radiation-curable binder material; shaping the mixture with a mold to form a structure; setting the structure by cooling the structure or by allowing the structure to cool; separating the structure from the mold; irradiating the structure so as to at least partially cure the radiation-curable binder material, and debinding and sintering the structure so as to form a structured sintered article. Shaping may include forming a structure having one or more open channels, and sintering may include sintering in together in contact with at least one additional structure so as to cover or enclose the channels.
