Methods, devices, and/or systems for controlling vibration and/or acoustic noise. An exemplary method senses noise and/or, for example, rotational speed of a rotating shaft, determines control parameters and actuates one or more actuators. An exemplary device includes a controller configured to receive information, determine control parameters and actuate one or more actuators. An exemplary system includes one or more sensors, a processor and one or more actuators. Various exemplary methods, devices, and/or systems are optionally suitable for use with turbochargers and/or other boost systems.

Noise control

A turbocharger turbine housing of this invention comprises a generally circular-shaped body having an exhaust gas inlet flange at a radial housing end and an exhaust gas outlet at an axial end. The inlet flange is configured having openings to two volutes that are separated by a wall divider, thereby forming an X-shaped pattern. The inlet flange is additionally configured having rounded and uniform thickness walls. The volutes are configured having a nonuniform shape and size, and the wall divider is configured having a diminishing area between the volutes, moving through the housing away from the inlet flange. The volutes are configured having a nonuniform shape and size with respect to one another as well moving through the turbine housing. Configured in this manner, turbocharger turbine housings of this invention serve to minimize thermal stress effects caused from transient thermal loading, thereby minimizing and/or eliminating thermal stress relating damage such as cracking.

Turbine housing for high exhaust temperature

A pneumatic actuator canister body employs a press fit cup received over an end portion of the canister to engage mounting studs extending through apertures in the end wall of the body and an end plate internally engaging the end wall. Heads of the studs are constrained between the end plate and a piston plate for the internal actuator spring.

Pneumatic actuator canister

A digital electronic locator which assists in locating the position and direction of an object/animal/person is described. Three configurations of the locator are presented; the first one is the basic configuration which gives an alerting means (Audio and/or visual) to indicate the location of an object/animal/person, the second configuration of the locator, in addition to providing the facility offered by the basic configuration, indicates the direction of an object/animal/person, the third configuration of the locator is used for locating person, in addition to providing the facilities offered by the basic and the second configuration it provides the direction of the searcher to the person being located who can, as well, acknowledge that he/she has been found.
