A nanofibrous catalyst for in the electrolyzer and methods of making the catalyst. The catalysts are composed of highly porous transition metal carbonitrides, metal oxides or perovskites derived from the metal-organic frameworks and integrated into a 3D porous nano-network electrode architecture. The catalysts are low-cost, highly active toward OER, with excellent conductivity yet resistant to the oxidation under high potential operable under both acidic and alkaline environments.

Nanofiber electrocatalyst

A pyrolyzed MOF catalyst for in the carbon dioxide reduction reaction and methods of making the catalyst. The catalysts are composed of highly porous transition metal organic frameworks exhibiting large pores with regular distribution of transition metals within the structure.

Carbon dioxide reduction electro catalysts prepared for metal organic frameworks

Electrocatalysts composed of single atoms or metal clusters dispersed over porous carbon support were prepared by a lithium-melt method. The new catalysts demonstrated high selectivity, high Faradic efficiency and low overpotential toward to the electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to chemicals.

Prussian blue analog derived catalysts having a composition of highly porous transition metal ('TM') oxides with nano particle size. Such OER catalysts are synthesized from the PBA, containing cobalt, iron, nickel, copper, manganese, zinc, magnesium etc., as secondary building units ('SBUs') coordinated by hexacyano-based ligands. Furthermore, the PBA-derived catalysts may also integrated into a highly graphitized carbon network to further improve the conductivity, mass transport and durability against oxidative corrosion.

A precursor solution of a transition metal based material is formed into a plurality of interconnected nanofibers by electro-spinning the precursor solution with the nanofibers converted to a catalytically active material by a heat treatment. Selected subsequent treatments can enhance catalytic activity.

Methods and compositions for use in the preparation of MOF-based non-PGM electrocatalysts including combining transition metal compounds with organic ligands and secondary building units to create a solid mixture, heating the solid mixture to form a MOF through a solid-state reaction, optionally heating the MOF to convert it to an electrocatalyst via pyrolysis, and optionally post-treating. The electrode catalysts may be used in various electrochemical systems, including a proton exchange membrane fuel cell.

A low platinum catalyst and method for making same. The catalyst comprises platinum-transition metal bimetallic alloy microcrystallites over a transition metal-nitrogen-carbon composite. A method of making a catalyst comprises preparation of transition metal organic frameworks, infusion of platinum, thermal treatment, and reduction to form the microcrystallites and composite.

Low platinum catalyst and method of preparation

A method of producing an electrocatalyst article using porous polymers. The method creates a porous polymer designed to receive transition metal groups disposed at ligation sites and activating the transition metals to form an electrocatalyst which can be used in a fuel cell. Electrocatalysts prepared by this method are also provided. A fuel cell which includes the electrocatalyst is also provided.
