A path prediction system includes a transceiver, a memory and a control module. The transceiver is configured to receive a map message at a host vehicle, the map message comprising path information of vehicles through an intersection. The memory is configured to store map data including global navigation satellite system information. The control module is configured to (i) determine if the host vehicle is approaching, at or in an intersection based on the map data, (ii) in response to determining that the host vehicle is approaching, at or in the intersection, predict a path of the host vehicle through the intersection based on the path information, and (iii) based on the predicted path of the host vehicle, perform at least one collision warning operation.

Path prediction based on intersection information from map messages

A remote station includes a transceiver, a memory and a control module. The memory is configured to store (i) baseline static paths of vehicles moving through an intersection, and (ii) map data. The control module is configured to obtain road obstruction information, based on the baseline static paths and the map data, determine whether the road obstruction information affects one or more of the baseline static paths of the vehicles through the intersection and update the one or more baseline static paths based on the road obstruction information, and broadcast, via the transceiver, a map message indicating the updated one or more baseline static paths.

Intersection-based offboard vehicle path generation

A roll-over alert system for a vehicle when navigating a curve in a road. The system includes a transceiver, a memory, and a control module. The transceiver is configured to receive a map message including a general curve speed recommendation for the curve. The memory is configured to store the map message and vehicle-specific data relevant to safely navigating the curve. The control module is configured to: (i) calculate a vehicle-specific curve speed based on the vehicle-specific data and the general curve speed recommendation included in the map message; and (ii) generate an alert to an operator of the vehicle when an actual vehicle speed exceeds the vehicle-specific curve speed during navigation of the curve by the vehicle.

V2-based roll-over alert in an intersection

A system for generating virtual lane markers of an intersection so that the virtual lane markers are visible to an operator of a vehicle at the intersection. The system includes a remote station having a transceiver, a remote memory module configured to store map data and baseline static paths of vehicles moving through the intersection, and a remote control module configured to broadcast via the transceiver a map message indicating the baseline static paths. A vehicle transceiver is configured to receive the map message. A vehicle control module is configured to generate virtual lane markers through the intersection based on the baseline static paths included with the received map message.

Lane monitoring during turns in an intersection

A cup is in a bottomed tubular shape to receive an injector along an injector axis. A bracket is extended from a sidewall of the cup. The bracket includes at least one arm and a body. The at least one arm connects the body with the cup. The body forms a screw opening configured to receive a screw along a screw axis. The body has a pivot end on an opposite side of the screw axis from the injector axis.

Fuel injector mounting device and fuel rail

An inter-connect circuit (ICC) device for a fuel delivery system of a vehicle is disposed between an engine control unit (ECU) and a fuel control device. The ECU transmits a drive pulse to the fuel control device by way of a drive pulse line passing through the ICC device. The ICC device includes a housing and a sense circuit. The housing has a first side that is connectable to the ECU and a second side different from the first side that is connectable to the fuel control device. The sense circuit is disposed within the housing. The sense circuit is electrically coupled to the drive pulse line by way of a sense circuit line and is communicably coupled to the ECU by way of a data communication line.

Inter-connect circuit device for vehicle fuel delivery system

An injector has an inlet body. A cup is in a bottomed tubular shape to hold the inlet body. The cup has a sidewall defining first apertures and second apertures. A first pin is inserted in the first apertures. A second pin is inserted in the second apertures. The first pin and the second pin are configured to hold the inlet body and to restrict rotation of the inlet body relative to the cup.

Fuel injector device having pin retainer

A pump may have a first chamber and a solenoid coil to control movement of a first valve member. A second chamber may have a second valve member to control fluid moving into a third chamber. A first fluid passageway may link the first and second chambers, a second passageway may link second and third chambers and a third passageway may link third and fourth chambers. After pressurizing the third chamber causing fluid to flow into and leave a fourth chamber, the third chamber depressurizes due to downward movement of a plunger. Upon depressurization with a solenoid coil energized, second valve member floats and then moves against a valve seat. While the second valve member is moving toward the valve seat, the solenoid coil is de-energized causing the first valve member to move and strike the second valve member when the second valve member is moving at maximum velocity.

Direct injection pump control strategy for noise reduction

A mounting assembly for mounting a fuel injector to a fuel rail. The mounting assembly includes a mounting boss and a fuel cup. The mounting boss is configured to be mounted to the fuel rail and receive a bolt within the mounting boss to couple the fuel rail to a cylinder head. The fuel cup is coupled to the mounting boss and configured to receive the fuel injector therein, as well as be mounted to the fuel rail to direct fuel from the fuel rail to the fuel injector.

Integrated sealing and positioning structure for fuel rail

A system for delivering fuel to an engine including a fuel reservoir pump configured to pump fuel from a fuel tank to a fuel pump reservoir. A low pressure fuel pump is configured to pump fuel out from within the fuel pump reservoir and to the fuel reservoir pump. A high pressure fuel pump is configured to pump fuel to the engine. The low pressure fuel pump is configured to pump fuel to the high pressure fuel pump. A controller is operable to configure the low pressure fuel pump in a high mode at a first pump rate when the high pressure fuel pump is in a first configuration, and operable to configure the low pressure fuel pump in a low mode at a second pump rate when the high pressure fuel pump is in a second configuration different from the first configuration, the first pump rate is different from the second pump rate.

Method to reduce fuel system power consumption

In a GDI fuel rail mounting system comprising a fuel injection rail, having at least one fuel injector receiving cup with a generally cylindrical shape directly attached to the fuel rail generally perpendicular to and offset from the center of the fuel rail. The fuel rail further comprising at least one generally cylindrical attachment means proximal the fuel injector receiving cup, also attached to the fuel rail offset from the center thereof, the attachment means and the fuel injector receiving cup being disposed generally parallel to each other. A securing strap is attached to the outer curvature of at least one of the injector receiving cup and the attachment means, at least partially wrapping around the outer periphery of the attachment means, thereby inhibiting torsional, lineal, and lateral movement of the injector cup relative to the attachment means and the fuel rail.

Connecting element for GDI tube stress reduction

A fuel delivery system including a high pressure fuel pump assembly. The assembly includes first and second output fuel paths each in communication with a fuel pump chamber. A main pressure relief fuel path is in communication with the fuel pump chamber and includes a pressure relief valve. A first relief fuel path is in communication with both the first output fuel path and the main pressure relief fuel path. A second relief fuel path is in communication with both the second output fuel path and the main pressure relief fuel path. The first and the second relief fuel paths are configured to restrict fuel flow therethrough between the first and the second output fuel paths.

Fuel delivery system containing high pressure pump with isolation valves

A fuel injector mounting structure may employ a flat bottom, a first (e.g. exterior) vertical wall that meets flat bottom, a second (e.g. interior) vertical wall that meets flat bottom, and a top wall. The top wall may define a flat surface transitioning into a curved surface. The top wall, flat bottom, first vertical wall and second vertical wall may be in the shape of a circular ring with a center hole through the center of the ring. An engine cylinder head may contact the bottom wall and a fuel injector may contact the curved surface of the top wall. Fuel injector and flat surface of top wall may define an air gap between them to inhibit vibration transmission from the fuel injector into the cylinder head. A powder metal material or an elastomer may occupy a cavity within the circular ring.
