Wireless communication equipment () is configured for use in a wireless communication network (). As listen-before-talk, LBT, attempts occur over time on a transmission resource (--N), the wireless communication equipment () makes updates to a performance rating (--N) for the transmission resource (--N) to reflect an observed likelihood of LBT attempt success or failure on the transmission resource (--N). Responsive to a failed LBT attempt on the transmission resource (--N) occurring unexpectedly according to the performance rating (--N), the wireless communication equipment () applies a bias (-) to the performance rating (--N) to reflect a greater likelihood of LBT attempt failure, or a smaller likelihood of LBT attempt success, than actually observed on the transmission resource (--N), and relaxes the applied bias (-) over time. The wireless communication equipment () controls transmission on the transmission resource (--N) based on this performance rating (--N) for the transmission resource (--N).

Controlling transmission on a resource subject to a listen-before-talk procedure

Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Industrial automation with 5G and beyond

Methods and apparatus are provided. In an example aspect, a method in a network node is provided, the method comprising monitoring unlicensed spectrum access attempts for transmissions to and/or from at least one User Equipment, UE, in a first group of UEs configured to use unlicensed spectrum to send uplink transmissions and/or receive downlink transmissions and, in response to the monitoring, causing the UEs in the first group to use licensed spectrum to send uplink transmissions and/or receive downlink transmissions.

Using unlicensed and licensed spectrum

A method is disclosed of transmitting a communication. The method comprises performing a Clear Channel Assessment, CCA, procedure on a first channel in unlicensed spectrum, and, if the CCA procedure indicates that the first channel is occupied for at least a predetermined period, transmitting the communication on a second channel in licensed spectrum.

A Virtual Endpoint and a method therein for enabling end-to-end connectivity between a wireless communication network and a wired communication network are disclosed. A Virtual Endpoint is implemented in the wireless communication network and certain user and control plane features used in the wired communication network are implemented in the VEP. The VEP maps data traffic between a device in the wireless communication network and a device in the wired communication network based on Quality-of-Service (QoS) and performs required actions defined by the features used in the wired communication network.

Methods for interworking between wireless and wired communication networks

Methods and apparatus are provided. In an example aspect, a method of transmitting data is provided. The method comprises determining if a first channel on a first cell is occupied and, if the first channel on the first cell is occupied for at least a predetermined period, transmitting the data on a second channel on a second cell.

Transmitting data when a first channel on a first cell is occupied

Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods, apparatus and machine-readable media relating to transport of data flows over cellular network. One method in a core network node comprises: obtaining configuration information for a data stream in an external data network, the configuration information indicating respective values for one or more fields within a header of data packets associated with the data stream which are to remain static; initiating transmission of the configuration information to a wireless device which is to receive the data stream; receiving a data packet associated with the data stream from the external data network; removing the one or more fields from the data packet to generate a compressed data packet; and initiating transmission of the compressed data packet to the wireless device.

Transport of data flows over cellular networks

A technique for controlling cryptographic document protection and verification is presented. In one implementation, a device is associated with a device identifier and with a cryptographic key is configured to obtain an electronically processable document representation (EPDR) of content of a document that is to be protected and to apply the cryptographic key to the EPDR to obtain a cryptographically processed document representation (CPDR). The device is further configured to transmit the device identifier and a verification parameter comprising at least one of the EPDR and the CPDR towards a transaction server that is configured to log the device identifier and the verification parameter in a tamper-proof manner. The device is also configured to receive a transaction identifier associated with the device identifier and the verification parameter from the transaction server, and trigger printing of the transaction identifier and the CPDR on a physical document that corresponds to the EPDR.

Technique for cryptographic document protection and verification

A technique for Time-Sensitive Networking, TSN, over a radio access network, RAN, is described. As to a handling method aspect of the technique, system information is received from a radio base station of the RAN. The system information is implicative or indicative of support for TSN through the radio base station. Depending on the received system information, at least one TSN stream of the TSN through the radio base station is established or initiated to establish.

A method performed by a core network node for a wireless communication network is provided. The method comprises: receiving a configuration message via an interface with a configuring node associated with a wired communication network, the configuration message comprising settings for a plurality of paths between a first node coupled to the wired communication network and a second node coupled to the wireless communication network, the plurality of paths carrying a plurality of data streams between the first and second nodes, the plurality of data streams comprising at least one redundant data stream; and configuring the plurality of paths within the wireless communication network according to the settings.

Methods, apparatus and computer-readable mediums relating to configuration of redundant paths

The disclosure provides various methods for time-aware scheduling of time-sensitive network (TSN) streams in 5G networks. One method, performed in a core network associated with a radio access network (RAN), is for scheduling resources in the RAN according to a transmission schedule associated with an external network. The method comprises receiving (), from the external network, a transmission schedule associated with a time-sensitive data stream and sending (), to the RAN, a request to allocate radio resources for communication of the data stream between the RAN and a user equipment (UE). The request further comprises information related to the transmission schedule. The method also comprises receiving (), from the RAN, a response indicating whether radio resources can be allocated to meet the transmission schedule associated with the data stream.

Methods and apparatus for scheduling resources in radio access networks

A wireless device includes a first mobile equipment and a second mobile equipment sharing a single subscriber identity module. The wireless device sends a first attach request as part of a first attach procedure to a cellular network using the first mobile equipment via a first base station to establish a first communication channel to the cellular network, and sends a second attach request as part of a second attach procedure to the cellular network using the second mobile equipment via a second base station to establish a second communication channel to the cellular network. The first and second attach procedures are performed using a same subscriber identity provided by the single subscriber identity module. Upon completion of the first and second attach procedures, data communicated between the wireless device and the cellular network is transferred redundantly over the first communication channel and the second communication channel.
