Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods for displaying a visual indication of audibility of an audible signal. In various implementations, a device includes a display, an audio sensor, a processor and a non-transitory memory. In various implementations, a method includes receiving, via the audio sensor, an audible signal and converting the audible signal to electronic signal data. In various implementations, the method includes obtaining environmental data that indicates audio response characteristics of a physical environment in which the device is located. In various implementations, the method includes displaying, on the display, an indicator that indicates a distance from a source of the audible signal at which the audible signal is audible. In some implementations, the distance is based on an amplitude associated with the electronic signal data and the audio response characteristics of the physical environment.

Visual indication of audibility

A method includes obtaining an image of a machine-readable data representation that is located on a physical object using a camera of an electronic device. The machine-readable data representation includes an encoded form of a data value. The method further includes decoding the machine-readable data representation to determine the data value, whereby the data value includes a content identifier and a content source identifier. The method also includes selecting a content source based on the content source identifier, obtaining a content item and content location information based on the content identifier from the content source, determining a content position and a content orientation for the content item relative to the physical object based on the content location information, and displaying a representation of the content item using the electronic device according to the content position and the content orientation.

Locating content in an environment

Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that select colors for visual markers that include colored markings encoding data. In some implementations, the colors are automatically or semi-automatically selected. In some implementations, the colors are selected to remain sufficiently detectable despite changes in lighting conditions or printing/display conditions. In some implementations, a set of colors selectable for use in a visual marker is obtained. Then, measures of distance between a plurality of colors of the set of colors is determined, and a subset of the set of colors for the visual marker is selected based on the measure of distance between colors of the subset of colors. In some implementations, the visual marker appearance includes graphical elements encoding data using the subset of colors. In some implementations, input is received using a GUI on a display to determine multiple colors based on a source image.

Colored visual markers for variable use

A method includes determining a device location of an electronic device, transmitting a request to a content source, the request including the device location of the electronic device, and receiving, from the content source in response to the request, a content item that is associated with display location information that describes a content position for the content item relative to a physical environment. The content item is selected by the content source based on the content position for the content item being within an area that is defined based on the device location. The method also includes displaying a representation of the content item as part of a computer-generated reality scene in which the representation of the content item is positioned relative to the physical environment according to the content position for the content item from the display location information for the content item.

A method and device for modifying virtual content according to various simulation characteristics includes obtaining first virtual content; obtaining one or more simulation characteristics; and generating second virtual content by modifying the first virtual content according to the one or more simulation characteristics; and presenting the second virtual content.

A method includes determining a device location of an electronic device, and obtaining a content item to be output for display by the electronic device based on the device location, wherein the content item comprises coarse content location information and fine content location information. The method also includes determining an anchor in a physical environment based on the content item, determining a content position and a content orientation for the content item relative to the anchor based on the fine content location information, and displaying a representation of the content item using the electronic device using the content position and the content orientation.
