A device may receive data identifying a quantity of wireless network devices, distance data identifying distances from the wireless network devices to a geographical location, data identifying signal strengths of the wireless network devices, carrier data identifying wireless and wireline carriers for the wireless network devices, or path data identifying wireline paths for the wireless network devices and wireline network devices. The device may assign scores to the quantity, the distance data, the signal strengths, the carrier data, or the path data to generate scores, and may combine the scores to generate a diversity risk score. The device may compare the diversity risk score to a diversity risk threshold scale and may determine whether the diversity risk score satisfies thresholds of the diversity risk threshold scale based on the comparison. The device may perform actions based on whether the diversity risk score satisfies the thresholds.

Systems and methods for minimizing risk to wireless backup services

Policy-based, on-demand provisioning of optical transport bandwidth is disclosed. In one of many possible embodiments, a system is provided for policy-based, on-demand provisioning of optical transport bandwidth. The system includes a layer-specific operation support subsystem (OSS) configured to manage network elements that form a sub-network over an optical transport network. The optical transport network provides bandwidth-on-demand provisioning capabilities. The layer-specific OSS includes one or more predefined bandwidth provisioning policies. The layer-specific OSS is configured to selectively request on-demand provisioning of bandwidth on the sub-network based on the predefined bandwidth provisioning policies.

Systems and methods for policy-based intelligent provisioning of optical transport bandwidth

A network upgrade tool identifies at least one new digital subscriber line (DSL) path pre-provisionable elements associated with the at least one new DSL path. The tool provisions the identified pre-provisionable elements prior to transition from at least one existing DSL path to the at least one new DSL path; receives a notification that physical network changes associated with a target digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) have been made; and provisions non-pre-provisioned elements following receipt of the notification.

A device receives, from a customer, a request for an end-to-end path through a network, determines parameters of a query based on the request and path criteria, and executes the query on a database of network elements capable of being included in the end-to-end path. The device also selects one or more of the network elements provided in the database based on results of the query, and reserves, in the database, the one or more selected network elements for the end-to-end path.

Defining an end-to-end path for a network service

A network upgrade tool creates an upgrade project designating a source digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM), a target DSLAM, and an upgrade type and determines whether the source DSLAM and target DSLAM are eligible for upgrade based on the upgrade type. At least one new digital subscriber line (DSL) path associated with the target DSLAM is identified when the source DSLAM and target DSLAM are eligible for upgrade. Pre-provisionable elements associated with the at least one new DSL path are identified and the identified pre-provisionable elements are provisioned prior to transition from at least one existing DSL path to the at least one new DSL path. A cutover selection is received that indicates that physical network changes associated with the target DSLAM have been made and non-pre-provisioned elements are provisioned following receipt of the cutover selection.
