A method and system of improving the detection and utilization of attributes of a user. A query is sent to a device operated by a user. The query includes a query database having a plurality of query tags corresponding to expected attributes of a target user and a numerical value associated with each of the plurality of query tags. A plurality of attributes of the user of the device is detected. Data corresponding to the detected plurality of attributes of the user and a response from the user related to the query is received. The numerical value associated with each of the plurality of query tags that corresponds with each of the detected plurality of attributes and creating a new query tags is incremented.

Detection and utilization of attributes

An expertise determination system and method may include detecting that a user is searching a topic, based on an activity of the user over a network, analyzing a shared content from social contacts of the user shared on one or more social media platforms to determine that a context of a content shared by at least one social contact of the user correlates to the topic searched by the user, determining that the at least one social contact of the social contacts of the user is a potential expert on the topic, based on a correlation metric between the context of the content and the topic, and alerting the user of an identity of the at least one social contact.

A method for enabling a user to create a proxy persona to attend a meeting on behalf of the user, whereby the meeting is associated with a communication system for requesting a person to be available for a scheduled event is provided. The method may include providing a user interface (UI) to enable the user to create the proxy persona and a plurality of predetermined configuration rules. The method may also include activating the proxy persona in response to a manual activation by the user or an automatic activation based on the plurality predetermined configuration rules being satisfied. The method may further include authorizing the proxy persona to participate in the meeting on behalf of the user, wherein the authorization is in response to the proxy persona being activated.

A method for refining search results. The method includes receiving a search query and in response to determining the search query is a compound search query, the method includes parsing the compound search query into at least two sub-queries. The method includes performing a search for each of the sub-queries and receiving a set of results from each search. The method then includes receiving a selection of a received result from one of the results sets and performing a second search using the selected received result and a sub-query not associated with the selected received result.

A text exchange associated with a distance value n can be received. The text exchange can be conveyed by a text exchange application which can be linked to a group session. The group session can comprise of one or more participants each associated with a proximity value m. The text exchange can be a real-time text based communication between one or more computing devices. A participant can be determined to receive the text exchange based on the distance value of the text exchange and the proximity value associated with the participant. The text exchange can be communicated to a computing device utilized by the participant when the proximity value is equivalent to the distance value. The text exchange can be presented in a visually and/or aurally distinct manner within an interface of the text exchange application.
