The present application provides for delivering initiation of social rooms for a predicted future event by evaluating a probability of the future event occurring and pre-allocating server resources of the social network platform based on the evaluated probability and subscriptions for the social room. The social networking server may receive a request, from a device of a host user, to create a social room based on a predicted future event. The social networking server may transmit an invitation to user devices on the social network to subscribe to the social room and then receive subscriptions from the user devices to join the social room. Based on an evaluated probability and the number of subscribers, the social networking server may pre-allocate particular server resources for the social room. If the future event occurs, then the social networking server initiates the social room using the pre-allocated particular server resources and automatically joins the subscribers.

Systems and methods for creating social rooms based on predicted future events

A virtual reality play area is defined. Movement of an object in the vicinity of the play area may then be detected. Based on the movement of the object, it may be determined whether the object is projected to enter the play area. If the object is projected to enter the play area, a representation of the object is generated for display to the user.

Systems and methods are provided for gesture-based verification of a user. A method includes receiving a request for verifying a user for an application, prompting the user to perform a series of gestures, capturing a data indicative of the user performing the series of gestures, and accessing a plurality of sets of weights, wherein each respective set of weights corresponds to a respective gesture of the series of gestures. The method includes configuring a gesture recognition model multiple times, each time of the multiple times corresponding to a respective set of the multiple sets of weights, where each set of weights corresponds to a gesture of the series of gestures. In response to recognizing all the gestures of the series of gestures, the method includes causing the application to provide access to at least one resource of the application based on the verifying the user.

Systems and methods are described for selecting a 3D object for display in an extended reality environment. A space in an extended reality environment is determined for placement of a 3D object. A set of space parameters are determined comprising: an amount of memory available for generating the display of the extended reality environment and an amount of computing power available for generating the display of the extended reality environment. The 3D object is selected for display in the space based on the amount of memory and the amount of computing power available.

Systems and methods are described for generating subtitles. Utterance data is received. First subtitles are generated for the utterance data. A first term is identified in the first subtitles. Systems and methods are provided herein for manipulating a stereoscopic display so that portions of the stereoscopic display are located at varying planes. This may be accomplished by a device comprising a plurality of microdisplays receiving a piece of three-dimensional (3D) content. The device may determine that a portion of the 3D content comprises a 3D object at a location within the 3D content. The device may then change the position of a first microdisplay according to the location of the 3D object within the 3D content. The device may display the 3D content using the plurality of microdisplays, wherein the first microdisplay displays the 3D object. The first microdisplay changing positions according to the location of the 3D object within the 3D content provides depth for rendering the 3D object at a suitable accommodation distance and reduces or eliminates the vergence-accommodation conflict for the user.

Systems and methods for bandwidth-adaptive light field video transmission on mobile and portable devices is disclosed. An upstream bandwidth is estimated. A request for a service tier for capture and transmission of light field content is received, wherein the light field content comprises an image array of a plurality of sub-aperture images. When the requested service tier is greater than the estimated upstream bandwidth, a reduced service tier is determined based on the estimated upstream bandwidth. A number of sub-aperture images comprising a reduced image array is determined based on the reduced service tier. The image array is reduced to the reduced image array based on feature saliency and adjacency of sub-aperture images. Resources corresponding to the reduced service tier are provided for capture and transmission of the reduced image array.

Bandwidth-adaptive light field video transmission on mobile and portable devices

Systems and methods are described for replacing an object being presented in a livestream with a secondary object that is personalized to a user that is consuming the livestream and rendering the livestream with the secondary object are described. The methods identify a target object in a livestream based on certain selection factors. A secondary object that is contextually related to the target object and selected based on selection factors is selected. A 2D-to-3D conversion of the scene description is performed to generate a 3D model. A replacement option is selected. The attributes of the secondary object based on its 3D model are matched with attributes of the target object based on its generated 3D model. Quality checks and scalability options are explored. The livestream is re-rendered with the secondary object having replaced the target object.

Systems and methods for switching between alternate scene objects during livestreaming

Systems and methods are provided herein for providing a system to reconfigure a user's access network to provide varying quality of service (QOS) based on flow identification. For example, a policy server (PS) may transmit a plurality of addresses of virtual private network (VPN) servers associated with a priority status to a cable modem (CM) and/or cable modem termination system (CMTS) associated with a client device. The CMTS may notify the PS when the CM and/or CMTS detects VPN traffic between the client device and a VPN server associated with the priority status. In response to the notification, the PS may transmit an update message to the CMTS, wherein the update message comprises an updated configuration. The updated configuration may be used to update the CM and/or CMTS so that the updated CM and/or CMTS process future data packets according to an updated QoS policy.

Systems and methods are provided for dynamically adjusting a personal boundary of an avatar in an XR environment. The system identifies a first avatar in an extended reality (XR) environment based on rule data stored in a storage. In response to the system detecting that the first avatar has entered a portion of the XR environment at a communicable distance from a second avatar, the system does the following steps. The system determines an offensiveness rating of the first avatar. The system retrieves, from the storage, an offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar. The system compares the offensiveness rating of the first avatar and offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar. In response to determining, based on the comparing, that the offensiveness rating of the first avatar exceeds the offensiveness tolerance of the second avatar, the system automatically censors one or more messages from the first avatar to the second avatar.

Systems, methods and apparatuses are described for providing a summary associated with a virtual meeting. In response to detecting a break in presence (BIP) at a first computing device for a first user in the virtual meeting, each of one or more second computing devices participating in the virtual meeting and corresponding to at least one second user may be caused to locally monitor reactions of the corresponding at least one second user to the virtual meeting during the BIP. The server may receive one or more parameters associated with the locally monitored reactions and corresponding to a portion of the virtual meeting during the BIP. In response to determining to generate a summary associated with a corresponding portion of the virtual meeting during the BIP, based on the received one or more parameters, the summary may be generated and provided to the first computing device.

Received video data is separated into a high acuity (HA) stream and a low acuity (LA) stream. The HA stream is marked to indicate HA transmission. A receiving device receives the HA stream and the LA stream. A display device generates for display a combined stream including the HA stream and the LA stream. Delivery of foveated rendering streams for media content delivery

Systems and methods for generating a CAPTCHA challenge in a virtual environment are disclosed. The methods display a spatially anchored virtual 3D object in a virtual environment where certain features of the 3D object are hidden or occluded. The methods provide general, specific, or no instructions to a user for manipulating the displayed 3D virtual object. Upon determining that the manipulations performed follow the instructions, the occluded feature is revealed. Varying degrees of CAPTCHA challenges are provided that include moving real life objects, leveraging user background in generating customized CAPTCHA challenges, and camouflaging the virtual objects to make solving the CAPTCHA more challenging. The methods query the user to provide an input that reflects the revealed occluded feature, and, if the response to the query meets the predetermined response, access to the secured data requested in granted.

Systems and methods for using occluded 3D objects for mixed reality CAPTCHA

An augmented reality (AR) device captures a first image frame of a first scene in a real world. The AR device compresses the first image frame using a same bitrate across an entirety of the first image frame to generate a first compressed image frame. The AR device wirelessly sends, to a server, the first compressed image frame. The AR device receives, from the server, object detection results that identify locations of objects depicted in the first image frame.
