A method of provisioning a mobile communication device with an eSIM profile. The method comprises receiving an indication by an application executing on a computer system that a subscriber associated with a mobile communication device provisioned with a first eSIM profile associated with a first network is traveling to a second network, maintaining a pool of eSIM profiles associated with the second network by the application, designating a second eSIM profile that is one of the eSIM profiles in the pool as allocated by the application, sending a copy of the second eSIM profile to the mobile communication device, receiving an indication by the application that the mobile communication device has deactivated the second eSIM profile, and, after receiving the indication that the mobile communication device has deactivated the second eSIM profile, designating the second eSIM profile in the pool as unallocated by the application.

Electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile provisioning

An Internet of things (IoT) wireless communication module. The IoT wireless communication module comprises an antenna, a radio transceiver coupled to the antenna, an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) coupled to the radio transceiver, where the eUICC is provisioned with a plurality of eSIM profiles, a non-transitory memory, a processor coupled to the non-transitory memory, to the radio transceiver, and to the eUICC, and an eSIM profile adapter application stored in the non-transitory memory. When executed by the processor, the eSIM profile adapter application determines a system installation context of the IoT wireless communication module, selects one of the plurality of eSIM profiles stored in the eUICC based on the system installation context, and activates the selected eSIM profile in the eUICC.

Embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile adaptation based on context

An electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile delivery and activation system is disclosed comprising a user equipment that includes an eSIM, a WIFI transceiver, a radio modem, and an application. The application is configured to detect that the eSIM is not initially provisioned with an eSIM profile, and in response to the detection, request, receive, and store via the WIFI transceiver a branding information handle from an over-the-air (OTA) platform in the eSIM, and reboot the eSIM and/or the radio modem. The radio modem is configured to receive the branding information handle stored in the eSIM after reboot, determine which subscription manager data preparation (SMDP+) server to access based on the handle, and obtain and configure the eSIM profile from the SMDP+ server into the eSIM. The radio modem is subsequently rebooted and configured to communicate with a carrier specific OTA platform to finalize activation of the eSIM profile.

Electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile delivery and activation system and methods

A method of provisioning an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) of a wireless communication device. The method comprises receiving a request for electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) provisioning data by a provisioning application executing on a computer system from a wireless communication device, wherein the request comprises contextual information, searching a data store by the provisioning application based on the contextual information, receiving a plurality of eSIM provisioning data bundles by the provisioning application from the data store, wherein each eSIM provisioning data bundle provides credentials and data operable for use to establish a wireless communication link to a communication network, and sending the plurality of eSIM provisioning data bundles by the provisioning application to the wireless communication device, wherein the wireless communication device is enabled to establish wireless communication links to different communication networks and access different communication services by activating a different one of the eSIM provisioning bundles.

Bootstrap electronic subscriber identity module configuration

A method of data communication service to a wireless communication device, comprising receiving a first communication session initiation message by a communication gateway from a wireless communication device, wherein the first communication session initiation message provides no access point name (APN) or provides a default APN, based on the first communication session initiation message providing no APN or providing a default APN, sending the first communication session initiation message by the communication gateway to an APN allocation server, parsing the first communication session initiation message by the APN allocation server to determine a destination identity of the first communication session initiation message and to determine an identity of the wireless communication device, looking up a communication policy by the APN allocation server, looking up by the APN allocation server an APN associated with the communication policy, sending the APN by the APN allocation server to the wireless communication device.

System and method of access point name (APN) dynamic mapping

A method of provisioning wireless communication service to wireless communication devices. The method comprises allocating telephone numbers to a first plurality of devices, allocating the same telephone numbers to a second plurality of devices, transmitting an eSIM provisioning data bundle in a short message service (SMS) message to the first plurality of devices by a first communication network routing node based on the corresponding one of the plurality of telephone numbers, transmitting an eSIM provisioning data bundle in a SMS message to the second plurality of devices by a second communication network routing node based on the corresponding one of the plurality of telephone numbers, wherein the first communication network routing node routes SMS messages in a first region and the second communication network routine node routes SMS messages in a second region, whereby a single telephone number is leveraged by two different devices located in different regions.

Activation communication addresses of internet of things devices

An Internet of things (IoT) devices wireless communication service enablement platform. The platform comprises a memory, a processor, and an IoT devices wireless communication service enablement application stored in the memory. When executed by the processor, the application receives a rule set for enabling wireless communication service for a plurality of IoT devices, where the rule set associates service codes to quality of service (QoS) levels to be provided to the IoT devices, receives a message comprising a service code from the one of the IoT devices, identifies a QoS level in the rule set that matches the received service code, monitors the location of the one of the IoT devices, builds an eSIM profile based on the location of the one of the IoT devices and based on the QoS level that matches the received service code, and sends the eSIM profile to the one of the IoT devices.

Internet of things (IoT) devices wireless communication service management platform

A method of configuring an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) of a wireless communication device. The method comprises storing provisioning data packages in an eSIM of a wireless communication device, receiving a short message service (SMS) message by an eSIM management application executing on the mobile communication device from a provisioning application executing on a computer system, in response to the SMS message, determining by the eSIM management application a current location of the mobile communication device and the identities of the provisioning data packages, sending the current location and the identities of the provisioning data packages by the eSIM management application to the provisioning application, receiving a provisioning command message by the eSIM management application from the provisioning application, wherein the provisioning command message identifies one of the stored provisioning data packages, and activating the identified provisioning data package in the eSIM for communication by the wireless communication device.

Triggering electronic subscriber identity module activation

A mobile communication device. The mobile communication device comprises a cellular radio transceiver, a radio modem communicatively comprising a radio modem processor, a radio modem non-transitory memory, and a security client application stored in the radio modem non-transitory memory. When executed by the radio modem processor, the security client application builds a device unlock request comprising an encrypted word, transmits the device unlock request via the cellular radio transceiver, receives a device unlock command via the cellular radio transceiver comprising a second encrypted word, decrypts the second encrypted word wherein the decryption of the second encrypted word comprises a digital signature, determines that the digital signature is valid, stores a device unlock state value in the radio modem non-volatile memory, and, configures a device unlocked policy into the radio modem, whereby the mobile communication device is configured to an international unlocked operation mode or a domestic unlocked operation mode.
