A method of wireless communication includes determining a set of subframes with a reduced likelihood of being received as uplink transmissions of a first user equipment (UE). The method also includes scheduling uplink transmissions of the first UE by scheduling uplink control information (UCI) on subframes other than the determined set of subframes.

Multiplexing UES with different TDD configurations and some techniques to mitigate UE-to-UE and base station-to-base station interference

In wireless communication systems, a determination may be made whether to hand off a user equipment (UE) based on whether the UE encounters time varying interference, such as UE to UE interference. The time varying interference may be present only in a specific set of time/frequency resources or subframes. Measurement reporting may be restricted to time/frequency resources which do not experience the time varying interference.

Wireless communication in view of time varying interference

When a UE does not completely decode a packet transmitted from a base station, the UE may send ACK/NACK to the base station, upon which the base station may retransmit the packet based on the ACK/NACK. However, the ACK/NACK fails to provide the base station with information needed by the UE for completely decoding the packet. Accordingly, a method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a packet from a base station having a first MCS, determines information to provide to the base station, wherein the information comprises CQI relating to a channel condition and/or interference condition corresponding to time-frequency resources allocated for the received packet, and sends the information to the base station. Thereafter, the apparatus re-receives the packet from the base station, the re-received packet having a second MCS according to the information sent to the base station.

Multiplexing UEs with different TDD configurations and some techniques to mitigate UE-to-UE and base station-to-base station interference

Transmission schemes that can flexibly achieve the desired spatial multiplexing order, spatial diversity order, and channel estimation overhead order are described. For data transmission, the assigned subcarriers and spatial multiplexing order (M) for a receiver are determined, where M&#x2267;1. For each assigned subcarrier, M virtual antennas are selected from among V virtual antennas formed with V columns of an orthonormal matrix, where V&#x2267;M. V may be selected to achieve the desired spatial diversity order and channel estimation overhead order. Output symbols are mapped to the M virtual antennas selected for each assigned subcarrier by applying the orthonormal matrix. Pilot symbols are also mapped to the V virtual antennas. The mapped symbols are provided for transmission from T transmit antennas, where T&#x2267;V. Transmission symbols are generated for the mapped symbols, e.g., based on OFDM or SC-FDMA. Different cyclic delays may be applied for the T transmit antennas to improve diversity.

Method and apparatus for antenna diversity in multi-input multi-output communication systems

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for reporting Channel Quality Indicator (CQI). In certain aspects, a User Equipment (UE) may schedule switch from at least a first set of zero or more antennas used by the UE, to at least one second set of zero or more antennas, wherein the first and second sets differ by at least one antenna. The UE may determine a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) to be reported from the UE for use at a base station in a subsequent CQI subframe set, based at least on the scheduled switch. The UE may thereafter transmit the CQI to the base station.

Methods and apparatus for reporting channel quality indicator (CQI)

Apparatus and methods implementing transmission schemes that can flexibly achieve the desired spatial multiplexing order, spatial diversity order, and channel estimation overhead order are provided. For example, an apparatus is provided that includes a processor configured to allocate different subcarriers to different antennas at different times. A memory is coupled to the processor. The processor can be further configured to map a traffic channel to a specific sequence of the different subcarriers at the different times. The processor can also be further configured to transmit the traffic channel on only one of the different subcarriers at each time in the different times. The processor can be integrated with at least one of a base station and a terminal.

Method and apparatus for providing antenna diversity in a wireless communication system

When communications of a single radio access technology (RAT), or different radio access technologies in a proximate communication spectrum are operating at the same time, potential interference between devices may occur. To reduce the interference, the time division duplex (TDD) configuration of one or more conflicting device may be altered. For example, at the edge of a communication region, TDD configurations used by edge base stations to communicate with mobile devices may be set to reduce interference. As another example, communications of a first device may be altered so the first device schedules uplink communications when a second device also has uplink communications scheduled. Other configurations may also be implemented.

Supporting different LTE-TDD configurations in neighboring regions and/or adjacent carriers

Methods and apparatus for performing receive antenna diversity measurements in measurement gaps are provided. One embodiment may include communicating with a serving base station using a first set of one or more receive antennas during a normal operational period, performing receive antenna diversity measurements with a second set of one or more receive antennas during a measurement gap between normal operational periods, and selecting one or more receive antennas for at least one of use and/or combining, based on the receive antenna diversity measurements.

In addition, schemes for improving the ability to multiplex pilot symbols without interference and/or biasing from different mobile stations over the same frequencies and in the same time slots.

In addition, schemes for improving the ability to multiplex pilot symbols without interference and/or biasing from different mobile stations over the same frequencies and in the same time slots.

Apparatuses and methodologies are described that enhance performance in a wireless communication system using beamforming transmissions. According to one aspect, the channel quality is monitored. Channel quality indicators can be used to select a scheduling technique, such as space division multiplexing (SDM), multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) transmission and opportunistic beamforming for one or more user devices. In addition, the CQI can be used to determine the appropriate beam assignment or to update the beam pattern.

An electronic device and method capture multiple images of a scene of real world at a several zoom levels, the scene of real world containing text of one or more sizes. Then the electronic device and method extract from each of the multiple images, one or more text regions, followed by analyzing an attribute that is relevant to OCR in one or more versions of a first text region as extracted from one or more of the multiple images. When an attribute has a value that meets a limit of optical character recognition (OCR) in a version of the first text region, the version of the first text region is provided as input to OCR.
