A fifth-wheel hitch system is described including: (a) a framework having an upright support; wherein the framework is adapted to be secured to a towing vehicle; (b) a support plate member secured to the top of the support member; wherein the plate member preferably includes a raised central portion and lower side portions; (c) a yoke member attached to the support plate member with fasteners which allow the yoke to be tilted away from the raised central portion of the plate member and then biased back to a central position; and (d) a receiver member attached to the yoke member for receiving and releasably connecting to the king pin of a trailer to be towed.

Fifth-wheel hitch system

A system is described for detachably securing a housing to a ball hitch (e.g. of the type used in trucks for towing). The system includes a tubular housing for fitting over the ball, and attachment means for detachably securing the housing to the ball. A workpiece can then be secured to the housing, as desired. A preferred attachment means is a pair of opposing lock pins which are movable between retracted and extended positions. When the pins are in the extended position, they secure the housing to the ball hitch. The type of workpieces may vary. For example, the workpiece may be a work table, a vise, a fifth-wheel hitch system, a winch, or an arm for a lift bucket.

Ball hitch conversion system

A system is described for attenuating intermittent forces at the interconnection between a towing vehicle and a trailer. The system includes a linear rocking member suspended between the towing vehicle and the trailer, a shock absorber between the linear rocking member and the vehicle, and a pendulum having a fulcrum connected to the vehicle and a swinging component rotationally connected to the linear rocking member, and a fastening device connecting the linear rocking member to the trailer to be towed.

Spring and pendulum system for shock attenuation in trailer hitches

A conversion system for enabling a camper trailer with a king pin to be towed by a vehicle having a ball-type hitch. The system includes a clamp comprising two U-shaped members adapted to be fitted around the king pin of the trailer, a plate which is connected to the U-shaped members, a neck which is connected to the plate, and a socket at the lower end of the neck for connection to a conventional ball-type hitch. The conversion system can be attached to any conventional gooseneck camper trailer without modifying or damaging the trailer or the hitch. Then the camper trailer can be towed by a truck with a conventional ball-type hitch.

Camper trailer hitch conversion system

A hitch system is described for a towing vehicle (e.g. a pickup truck) to enable the vehicle to tow a gooseneck trailer. The hitch system includes a mounting bracket to be attached to the frame of the vehicle, a sleeve secured to the mounting bracket and including a vertical slot in the wall and a second slot communicating with the vertical slot, a ball hitch which slides into the sleeve and including a pin which projects outwardly to be received in the vertical slot (after which the pin moves into the second slot when the ball is rotated), and a lock for preventing rotation of the ball when the pin is in the second slot. After the ball has been inserted into the sleeve and rotated, it is locked in position and will not come out during normal use of the hitch system.

Hitch system for gooseneck trailer

A hitch for a goose neck trailer is provided which includes a cross member positionable beneath the cargo bed and between the frame members of a truck. A central opening is provided on the cross member for receiving a socket that is insertable within a sleeve member aligned with the opening. A spring biased pin attached to the sleeve engages a vertical groove formed on the exterior of the socket to secure the ball socket for use. A ball hitch attached to an upper end of the socket protrudes above the cargo bed and is attachable to a goose neck trailer. Removal of the ball hitch and socket is accomplished by aligning the pin with an eccentric groove formed on the socket's exterior, rotating the socket to an area where the groove ends, and pulling upwards. Adjustment means are provided to adjust the hitch to accommodate differing frame and cargo bed configurations found on trucks. The ball hitch may be stored by inverting the ball hitch and socket, aligning the vertical groove with the pin, and inserting the ball hitch end into the central opening.

Hitch for goose neck trailer

A machine for grinding large bales of forage material is provided with a cradle pivotably mounted on a frame. The cradle is movable to a lowered position in which lifting members can engage a bale of crop material lying on the ground. The cradle can be pivoted to a working position in which gravity directs the bale against a grinder. The discharge of the comminuted forage material from the grinder is controlled by an adjustable deflector. A conveyor urges the bale toward the grinder, and tends to rotate the bale to evenly grind or chop away the outer periphery of the bale.

Machine for loading and disintegrating large bales of forage material

The machine has a normally upright, open top, rotary tub provided with a high speed, disintegrating rotor below the floor of the tub that projects through an opening in the floor to progressively reduce the mass of crop materials into disintegrated form as the tub rotates to agitate the mass. The disintegrating rotor serves also as a means for blowing and forcibly projecting the disintegrated materials out a discharge spout as disintegration occurs, without the aid of an intermediate conveyor or the like. The tub is mounted on a wheeled chassis in such a manner that it can be tipped essentially ninety degrees from its normal operating position to a lowered position in which the top of the tub is essentially vertically disposed, thereby permitting the tub to scoop up and load into itself a mass of materials as the machine is backed toward and into the materials. After then swinging the tub back up to its operating position, the mass may be transported by the machine to a desired site for disintegration, whereupon rotation of the tub and activation of the rotor commences the disintegration process.
