The invention relates to a nozzle for flow cytometry, the housing of which is tapering towards an outlet and in which a feed tube is arranged for a core flow liquid, the outlet opening of which is arranged at a distance from the outlet of the housing. The outlet of the housing forms the outlet of the nozzle. The housing of the nozzle extends from its outlet, which is arranged at its first end to its opposite second end, and has an inlet for a sheath flow liquid connected with the internal volume. The nozzle is characterized in that in the housing a leading element that promotes the alignment of particles extends from both sides of the feed tube.

Nozzle and method for flow cytometry

The invention provides a device and a method for flow cytometric fractionation of particles contained in a fluid stream, wherein sections of the fluid stream, especially droplets if the fluid stream is a droplet stream, are irradiated with a laser. The laser disposed for the irradiation of the sections of the fluid stream can have a wavelength which is absorbed by the fluid and can have a sufficient radiation duration and radiation intensity to deflect sections of the fluid stream.

Apparatus and method for selecting particles

The present invention relates to a method and to compounds useable in the method for analysis of cells for the presence of an analyte and sorting the cells on the basis of the analyte. The compounds used in the method are optically detectable because of the content of a fluorochrome and contain a binder fraction which can specifically bind an analyte, in particular an oligonucleotide.
