A device and a method are described for the optical selection of components of at least one fraction from a bulk material stream conveyed along a conveyance direction, having a camera unit, whose camera viewing direction is oriented toward the bulk material stream, a background, situated in the camera viewing direction behind the bulk material stream, whose color is adaptable to the color of a selected fraction of components of the bulk material stream, an analysis and control unit, connected to the camera unit, in which control commands for a separation unit, which is capable of separating the components to be selected out of the bulk material stream upon activation, may be generated according to a decision criterion.

Device and method for optically sorting bulk material

The invention relates to a method for automatic inspection of the surface,of a moving object, in which a region on the object's surface is illuminated from at least two different illumination directions,. The object's illuminated surface region is imaged with a camera to provide image information for analysis. The light sources in the different illumination directions,are pulsed to illuminate the object's surface region at different times, the pulsing frequency being >1 kHz The object's illuminated surface region is imaged as lines with a line scan camera,in sync with the above pulsing. The invention also relates to an arrangement for inspecting the surface,of a moving object, the arrangement comprising at least two light sources,in at least two different illumination directions,for illuminating the surface region of the object under inspection; a camera for imaging the object's surface region; and an image analyzer for analyzing the image information acquired from the object's surface,by imaging. The light sources,illuminate the object's surface,from the different illumination directions,at different times, and the camera is a line scan camera,. The arrangement further comprises a timing controller,for synchronous pulsing of the light sources,and the at least one line scan camera,, the pulsing frequency of the light sources,being >1 kHz.

Arrangement and method for inspection of surface quality

In a method an an apparatus for automatic inspection of moving surfaces using at least three different illumination/observation channels, the surface to be inspected under a bright field condition is illuminated by a first beam of light from a first light source. The light of the first beam of light reemitted from the surface is received by a light sensitive sensor device to obtain a first signal. Then, the surface is illuminated under a dark field condition by a second beam of light and by a third beam of light from a second and a third light source, respectively, the first, second and third beams of light having different characteristics. The light of the second beam of light and the light of the third beam of light, respectively, reemitted from the surface are received by the light sensitive sensor device to obtain a second signal and a third signal. Finally, a physical property of the surface is derived from the first, second and third signals.

Method and apparatus for automatic inspection of moving surfaces

In a method of and an apparatus for detecting three-dimensional defects in he automatic inspection of moving surfaces by means of a color vision system the surface of a moving test specimen which is to be inspected is illuminated with light of different colors simultaneously from at least two different directions, such that edges of three-dimensional defects on the surface appear with a different coloring, and on the basis of the altered coloring, at least two channels of the color image are evaluated to detect three-dimensional defects and to differentiate same from planar defects.
