The disclosure relates to a lighting unit for an aircraft interior having a floor with a baseplate fastenable to structure of the aircraft, and having a receiving region that faces away from the structure in a fastened state. An OLED light source having one or more OLEDs is arranged in the receiving region. The lighting unit also has a lens arranged on a side of the OLED light source facing away from the baseplate, and a frame mechanically retained in the receiving region by plug contacts such that the OLED light source and the lens are fastened in the receiving region. The plug contacts include electrical and mechanical contacts, wherein the OLEDs are supplied with electricity by at least one controllable driver, and wherein the contacts supply electricity to the OLED light source.

An area projection system for reproducing a visual signal on a surface, comprising a light source, a fiber element comprising a plurality of light guide elements, a carrier element and imaging optics, wherein the fiber element comprises a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the fiber element is arranged on the light source and the second end of the fiber element is arranged on the carrier element, wherein the imaging optics are arranged on the second end of the fiber element, wherein the area projection system is adapted to transmit a visual signal from the light source to the fiber element and subsequently to the imaging optics, and wherein the imaging optics are adapted to reproduce the visual signal on a surface.

A reading device, such as a reading lamp or reading spotlight, is provided for use in a vehicle, such as a motor vehicle with immovable properties or ships. The reading device for example can be used in passenger cabins and/or cockpits of aircraft. The reading device includes, but is not limited to an LED light source with a color temperature that can be adjusted with the color 'warm-white' to 'cold-white', a primary optics or lens advantageously designed as a converging lens, and a secondary optics or lens to focus the light emitted by the light source onto a surface, such as a reading plane to be illuminated.

An illumination device for an aircraft, comprising a combination of two-dimensional background illumination with a reflection of incident light on a face pointing towards the viewer in order to achieve a particular depth effect, as a result of which the illumination body appears to the viewer in greater visual depth than is actually the case. This is, in particular, of importance in aircraft, in which not only is the available space small, but also the weight aspect that is inevitably associated with large bodies plays an important role.

The light module provides information relating to its characteristics, while a control system determines a position of the light module on a light-module carrier, and on the basis of the determined position and of the characteristics of the light module adjusts the light module by way of a bus system of the light-module carrier according to a desired illumination.

A projector of an information display system in vehicles, in particular in aircraft, for projecting images comprising information for passengers and/or crew onto a projection area which is arranged in the vehicle, with the use of a projection lens that images the image contents onto the projection area, which images are generated by a light source and a projection means. An LED array comprising LEDs that can be switched on and off independently of each other is provided as a light source and as a projection means. To generate composite variable image contents the LEDs can be individually selected. Between the LED array and the projection lens a separation box comprising several chambers is arranged. The chambers of the separation box are associated with an LED such that the chambers associated with the switched-on LEDs are imaged on the projection area by the projection lens as parts of the compound image determined by the switched-on LEDs.

Projector of an information display system in vehicles, in particular in aircraft

The invention relates to a flat light-emitting lighting device for a vehicle, and to a method for providing emergency energy supply to the lighting device. A shallow installation depth and low power consumption of the lighting device may be ensured by the use of a flat OLED illumination device. Due to the low power consumption of the flat OLED illumination device, an emergency energy supply may be integrated without this increasing the installation depth. Such flat lighting devices, which in the case of emergency are self-supplying, may, for example, be used in aircraft in order to, with suitable icons or text, indicate escape routes or other emergency-relevant information.

In current passenger aircraft, signs are used to represent specific information, which reproduce the information as writing or a pictogram. According to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an information display system for aircraft is specified, comprising a light source, a projection unit, and a housing. For this purpose, according to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the projection unit is implemented in the form of a liquid crystal display, so that, in combination with a high-performance light-emitting diode and a suitable lens, static and dynamic information may be presented on arbitrarily shaped projection surfaces. The flexibility of the onboard information display is thus advantageously increased.

Information display system for aircraft

A reading lamp for an aircraft cabin, particularly installed above a passenger seat, has a light source emitting a light beam with an optical axis extending substantially horizontally so that a light beam can be deflected by an optical deflector such as a mirror, to a passenger seat. This orientation of the light source provides a compact construction of the reading lamp. Preferably the deflector position is adjustable relative to the optical axis.
