The invention relates to an apparatus for transmitted light illumination for light microscopes having changing effective entrance pupil of an objective. The apparatus has a light source for emitting an illuminating light beam, and a holding device for holding a sample to be examined, and at least one diaphragm edge for trimming the illuminating light beam bundle, wherein the diaphragm edge is arranged between the holding device and the light source and extends transversely to an optical axis, wherein a beam path of the illuminating light between the diaphragm edge and a sample held by the holding device is free from beam focussing components. The apparatus is characterized in that the means are provided for enquiring concerning a microscope setting and/or a microscope configuration of a light microscope, which means are positionable at the device for transmitted light illumination; means are provided for variable positioning of the diaphragm edge in a direction transverse to the optical axis, and a control device is provided and configured to position the diaphragm edge in the direction transverse to the optical axis via the means for variable positioning. The invention also relates to a method for transmitted light illumination for a light microscope and a microscope system.

An apparatus and method for transmitted light illumination for light microscopes having changing effective entrance pupil of an objective. The apparatus has a light source for emitting an illuminating light beam, wherein a beam path of the illuminating light between a diaphragm edge and a sample held by a holding device is free from adjustable beam focussing components. In order to adapt the beam path of the illuminating light to the effective entrance pupil of the objective, the diaphragm edge may be variably positioned in the direction of the optical axis, wherein a position of the diaphragm edge in the direction of the optical axis can be varied irrespectively of a position of the diaphragm edge transversely to the optical axis.

A method for correcting the parcentricity in zoom systems. The positional difference in the image between at least two different zoom positions is detected in order to explicitly or implicitly determine the position in the image which remains stationary during zooming. The travel lengths of a means for positioning the object in the object plane required for correcting the zoom-dependent parcentricity error are calculated and provided as control variable for the appropriate positioning of the means for positioning the object in the object plane, such that the target position appears stationary in the image after or during zooming.

An objective changer for a telescope-type stereomicroscope which has two telescope systems whose entrance-side beam paths are oriented parallel to one another, which includes a carrier and an objective holder which is held at the carrier so as to be movable relative to the carrier between a first stereoscopic working position and a second stereoscopic working position and a third working position. The objective holder has at least a first and a second receptacle for stereo objectives and a third receptacle for an additional objective. The two telescope system beam paths penetrate one of the receptacles for the stereo objectives at least in the stereoscopic working positions when the objective changer is arranged at the stereomicroscope.

The present invention serves to vary and adjust the transmitted light illumination in microscopes, particularly with respect to the numerous, different illumination situations. The device, according to the invention comprises modules for darkfield illumination, brightfield illumination, and/or diffuse illumination and/or for adapting the object field in which an illumination unit can be selectively coupled to different modules and in which actuators are provided for implementing the adjustments within the modules and for producing the desired connections, these actuators being operated by means of operating elements of a control unit. The adjustments within the modules and the implemented connections are detected and are stored in the control unit so as to be reproducible. The proposed solution makes possible a broad application by means of an ergonomic arrangement of the operating elements and adjusting and/or changing the illumination situations in a simple and reproducible manner.
