An illumination device for an interior space, such as that of a motor vehicle, for example, has a light source (2) and an opposing reflector system (3) located at a distance across the interior space, wherein the reflector system includes a reflector unit having multiple reflectors (8, 13, 14, 15, 16) each capable of being brought into a position in a beam path (7) of light from the light source (2). The light source (2) can be placed in a center control panel (4) of the motor vehicle, while the reflector system (3) can be placed on a vehicle ceiling located opposite the center control panel (4).

A blink lamp for a motor vehicle, which is arranged at a corner area of a vehicle, has a reflector with an outer first reflector portion (R1) and an inner second reflector portion (R2), a light source (L) whose socket is arranged between the first and second reflector portions, and a light-transmissive shield (S) covering a facing side of the lamp and extending substantially rearward along a side area of the vehicle. In order to provide a maximized light output from the first and second reflector portions the first and second reflector portions are formed together as one piece with their reflector surfaces running together continuously; a projection of the inner second reflector portion in a driving direction is at least as large as a projection of the outer first reflector portion; the surfaces of both the first and second reflector portions are formed so that a light reflection direction continuously changes as a function of changes in geometric positions on the reflector surface; and both the first and second reflector portions create substantially the same light distribution, with both the first and second reflector portions, in both horizontal and vertical cross sectional directions, or planes, having a light scattering reflective characteristic corresponding to a light distribution to be achieved.

Blink lamp

A light system for an interior space of a motor vehicle comprises a plurality of function groups, each comprising a plurality of light-creation units (LE). Each light creation unit has an electrically activated and deactivated light source (LQ) and a reflector (R) for concentrating light from the light source. At least one light conductor (LL) is associated with each light creation unit with its first end being coupled to the light creation unit for transmitting concentrated light, the light conductor including a plurality of flexible individual light conductors (EL), and there being a light emitting unit (E) at a second end of the light conductor for illuminating a surface. The light sources of a single function group are simultaneously activated and deactivated. The light-creation units are spatially distributed in the motor vehicle so as to reduce the lengths of the light conductors. The light system has at least one entering and exiting illumination function group and a orientation illumination function group.
