Sensor for absorbent article

A fecal management device, and methods for applying a fecal management device to a patient, are described herein. In some embodiments, the fecal management device comprises a sheath having a first end and a second end, a first connector at the first end of the sheath, said first connector comprising a substrate that includes a first adhesive and a second adhesive, the second adhesive disposed relatively outwardly with respect to the first adhesive, the substrate having a multi-lobed contour with two opposing concave regions, a sheath port located at the second end of the sheath, the sheath port configured to removably mate with a collection bag port, and a collection bag, wherein the collection bag includes the collection bag port.

External fecal management device

A sensor for monitoring wetness in a diaper or other absorbent article includes a housing that attaches to the absorbent article. The sensor may include inner and outer housing portions that capture an edge of the absorbent article between the housings. The sensor may include contacts that electrically connect with a pair of contact strips embedded in the absorbent article. The distance between the embedded strips may vary depending on the size of the absorbent article. The sensor may include multiple pairs of contacts that are spaced apart to match the distance between the contact strips for the variously sized absorbent articles. In this way, depending on the pair of contacts connected to the contact strips, the sensor may indicate the size of the absorbent article. The sensor may have a housing with a cavity and a lid that closes the cavity. The lid may be secured with a latch.

Absorbent article with channeled core

A fecal impaction removal device includes an elongated shaft extending along a central longitudinal axis. A dilation body is secured at a distal end of the elongated shaft for insertion into a rectum of a patient. The dilation body has a maximum radial extension in a direction orthogonal to the central longitudinal axis. The fecal impaction removal device includes a stop member that extends from a central region of the elongated shaft. The stop member has a length along a major axis that is greater than the maximum radial extension of the dilation body.
