A mask for communicating a flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The mask includes a patient interface having a faceplate and a cushion. The cushion has a first end coupled to the faceplate and an opposite second end for sealingly engaging a portion of the patient's face about one or more airways of the patient. A frame includes a first arm member having a first end coupled to the patient interface via a first coupling arrangement and an opposite second end coupleable to a headgear, and a second arm member having a first end selectively coupled to the patient interface via a second coupling arrangement and an opposite second end coupleable to the headgear. The second coupling arrangement requires a lessor uncoupling force to uncouple than the first coupling arrangement.

The valve arrangement includes a valve member () having a coupling portion () and a blocking portion () extending from the coupling portion. A respiratory interface device, a cushion body and a cushion support assembly is provided. The respiratory interface device cushion body includes a nose bridge engagement portion structured to engage a user's nose bridge, the cushion nose bridge engagement portion movable between an un-deformed first configuration and a deformed second configuration. The cushion support assembly includes a faceplate and a pressure distributing assembly. A faceplate perimeter nose bridge portion defines a recessed tapered contour. A pressure distributing assembly includes a number of pressure distributing members. A pressure distributing member is disposed at the faceplate perimeter nose bridge portion and is structured to move between a first position, wherein the pressure distributing member maintains the cushion in the first cushion configuration, and a second position wherein the pressure distributing member maintains the cushion in the second cushion configuration.

A patient interface of the present invention includes a faceplate including a plurality of headgear attachment elements, a seal member operatively coupled to the faceplate; and an adjustment mechanism coupling the seal member to the faceplate. The adjustment mechanism controls the position of the seal member relative to the faceplate such that the seal member is moveable from a first position to a second position and is maintained in the second position during use of the patient interface after being moved to the second position.

A patient interface device includes a cushion member having a main body portion having a surface structured to engage a face of a patient. A frame member is coupled to the cushion member, and a fluid coupling conduit is coupled to the frame member. An engagement member is coupled to the cushion member; and a rotatable cam wheel is disposed between the frame member and the engagement member. Rotation of the cam wheel changes a position of the main body portion relative to the frame member. The cushion member includes a flexible portion adjacent the main body portion, and the cam wheel is rotatable about the flexible portion, such that rotation of the cam wheel about the flexible portion causes the flexible portion to deflect thereby moving the cushion member relative to the frame member.

A patient interface system includes a patient interface device, a conduit coupled to the patient interface device, and a gas supply assembly. The gas supply assembly includes a body portion having a first end, a second end disposed opposite and distal from the first end, a lower segment, and an upper segment attached to the lower segment. The first end includes a first coupling portion coupled to the patient interface device. The second end includes a second coupling portion coupled to the conduit. The upper segment and the lower segment together form an air channel extending between the first coupling portion and the second coupling portion. The first end is configured to be substantially disposed on the patient's forehead. The second end is configured to position the conduit away from the patient's face.

A patient interface device () includes a cushion assembly () including a nasal cushion member (), and a frame assembly () having frame member () having a first arm (A) and a second arm (B). The cushion assembly is rotatably coupled to the first and second arm such that the cushion assembly rotates with respect to the frame assembly about an axis extending through the first arm and the second arm. A patient interface device includes a support structure, a pivot arm pivotably coupled to the support structure and structured to pivot about an axis, a patient coupling member, such as a mask or a forehead support, coupled to the pivot arm, and a cam wheel rotateably coupled to the support structure and engaging the pivot arm, wherein rotation of the cam wheel relative to the support structure and the pivot arm causes the pivot arm to pivot about the axis and the patient coupling member to move either forward or backward along a path of movement. Also, an alternative patient interface device includes a cam wheel rotatable about a cushion member that changes a position of a main body portion of the cushion member relative to a headgear frame member of the patient interface device.

A patient interface device includes a support member, a sealing assembly attached to the support member, and a pair of contacting members. The contacting members are coupled to the support member on each side of the sealing assembly. The contacting members are each configured and arranged to contact the user over a limited contacting region, which corresponds to a junction of the orbicularis oris facial muscle, the zygomaticus facial muscle, and the risorius facial muscle.
