A display film includes a transparent cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer. The transparent cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer having a glass transition temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Polyurethane acrylate protective display film

This disclosure describes co-extruded multilayer articles including at least one continuous layer and one discontinuous layer, as well as systems and techniques for the manufacture of co-extruded multilayer articles. For example, a co-extruded multilayer article is described that includes a body having a plurality of layers, where a first layer of the plurality of layers is formed from a first material and is continuous along a longitudinal axis of the body, and a second layer of the plurality of layers is formed from a second material and is discontinuously co-extruded along the longitudinal axis.

The present disclosure provides an article including a layer having a nanostructured first surface including nanofeatures and an opposing second surface, and an organic layer including a major surface attached to a portion of the nanofeatures. The nanostructured first surface includes protruding features that are formed of a single composition and/or recessed features. The nanofeatures and the major surface of the second layer together define at least one void. The present disclosure also provides a method of making the article including contacting nanofeatures of a layer having a nanostructured surface with a major surface of an organic layer and reacting at least one material to secure the two layers together. In addition, the present disclosure provides an optical information display and an OLED device including the article. The nanostructured surface of the article is protected from damage and contamination by the organic layer.

Articles including nanostructured surfaces and enclosed voids, and methods of making same

A substrate including a self-supporting tri-layer stack is described. The tri-layer stack includes first and second outer layers and a biaxially oriented layer disposed between and in direct contact with the first and second outer layers. The biaxially oriented layer may include a first polyester having greater than 45 mole percent naphthalate units and greater than 45 mole percent ethylene units. Each of the first and second outer layers includes a second polyester which may include 40 to 50 mole percent naphthalate units, at least 25 mole percent ethylene units, and 10 to 25 mole percent of branched or cyclic C4-C10 alkyl units.

Substrate including a self-supporting tri-layer stack

A display film includes a transparent polymeric substrate layer and a transparent energy dissipation layer disposed on the transparent polymeric substrate layer. The transparent energy dissipation layer includes cross-linked polyurethane and a polyacrylate polymer. The transparent energy dissipation layer has a glass transition temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Dual cure protective display film

The present disclosure relates to films having at least a first profiled layer and a second layer having an inverse profile of the first layer. Those films can be used as protection tapes for various surfaces. Exemplary uses of the films of the present disclosure include leading edge protection tapes for rotor blades.

Profiled films

A retarder including first and second outer layers and a birefringent layer disposed between and in direct contact with the first and second outer layers is described. The birefringent layer may include a first polyester having greater than 45 mole percent naphthalate units and greater than 45 mole percent ethylene units. Each of the first and second outer layers includes a second polyester which may include 40 to 50 mole percent naphthalate units, at least 25 mole percent ethylene units, and 10 to 25 mole percent of branched or cyclic C4-C10 alkyl units. The retarder has a retardance in a range of 1 micrometer to 100 micrometers.

Retarder

A display film includes a transparent cross-linked polyurethane layer. The transparent cross-linked polyurethane layer having a glass transition temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Low Tg polyurethane protective display film

Substrates suitable for use in a touch sensor are described. In some cases, the substrates include an inner layer and first and second heat-set polymeric outer layers. The first and second outer layers each have an in-plane birefringence of less than 0.1. The inner layer is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence greater than 0.01. In some cases, a substrate includes a block copolymer which includes a first polyester and second polyester. The first polyester has a melting point greater than 200 &#xb0; C., and the second polyester having a melting point less than 200&#xb0; C. The block copolymer includes the second polyester at 50 to 80 percent by weight. The substrate is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence between 0.001 and 0.1.

Substrate for touch sensor

A touch panel includes a touch sensor having a dielectric core layer disposed between first and second piezoelectric layers. Each piezoelectric layer comprises a poled piezoelectric polymer. The touch sensor further includes at least a first set of individually addressable electrodes disposed over the first piezoelectric layer and at least one second electrode disposed over the second piezoelectric layer. Circuitry is coupled to the first set of electrodes and the second electrode. The circuitry is configured to detect a change in an electrical signal of at least one electrode of the first set of electrodes referenced to the second electrode in response to a touch applied to the touch surface of the touch sensor.
