Provided herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods of providing electrical energy for electric vehicles. A battery pack can be disposed in an electric vehicle to power the electric vehicle. A battery cell can be arranged in the battery pack. The battery cell can have a housing. The housing can define a cavity within the housing. The battery cell can have an electrode structure arranged within the cavity. The electrode structure can include a first polarity electrode plate, a second polarity electrode plate, and at least one separator. First and second polarity tabs are coupled with the first and second polarity electrode plates, respectively. The tabs include a flat surface, an electrode interface surface and at least one intermediate surface that extends therebetween. The at least one intermediate surface forms an acute angle with the electrode interface surface.

Electric vehicle battery cell structure

A battery cell for an electric vehicle battery pack is provided. A housing of the battery cell can define a cavity. An electrolyte material can be housed within the cavity. A first polarity terminal of the battery cell can be disposed at an open end of the housing. A first conductive tab can be disposed at a closed end of the housing and electrically coupled with a first polarity portion of the electrolyte material. A conductive rod can extend through a core of the electrolyte material and can include a first end disposed at the closed end of the housing and electrically coupled with the first conductive tab. A receptacle can be electrically coupled with the first polarity terminal and can extend towards the electrolyte material to engage with a second end of the conductive rod at the open end of the housing.

Battery cell for an electric vehicle battery pack

A solid state battery cell can include a first polarity terminal, a second polarity terminal and a housing defining a cavity and functioning as a current collector for the first polarity terminal. The battery cell can include a membrane disposed in the cavity and dividing the cavity into a first portion and a second portion, an electrically conductive pin functioning as a current collector for the second polarity terminal, and an insulator electrically isolating the electrically conductive pin from the housing. A solid state anode material, including solid state anode particles, first solid state electrolyte particles and a first conductive additive, can be disposed in the first portion of the cavity. A solid state cathode material, including solid state cathode particles, second solid state electrolyte particles and a second conductive additive, can be disposed in the second portion of the cavity.

Electric vehicle solid state battery cell

Provided herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods of powering electric vehicles. A battery pack can be disposed in an electric vehicle to power the electric vehicle. A housing can be arranged in the battery pack and can have a first polarity terminal. A capping element can be mechanically coupled with the housing and can have a second polarity terminal. A battery cell array can be arranged within a cavity in the housing. The battery cell array can have a first polarity terminal electrically coupled with the housing. The battery cell array can have a second polarity terminal electrically coupled with the capping element.

Electric vehicle battery cell having multiple stack structures

Provided herein are battery packs for electric vehicles. A battery pack can include a housing having cavities. The battery pack can include electrode structures having a first tab terminal and a second tab terminal. A cover can be disposed over the housing. The cover can include first junction connectors extending between a first surface of the cover and a second surface of the cover. The first tab terminal of each electrode structure can be welded to respective first junction connectors.

Integrated battery modules in electric vehicles

Provided herein are battery cells for battery packs in electric vehicles. The battery cell includes a housing defining an inner region, an electrolyte disposed within the inner region, and a gasket that couples a lid with the housing to seal the battery cell. The gasket can include an inner portion having an ingress point and an egress point. The inner portion can have disposed therein a thermocouple wire that extends through the inner portion, past the ingress point and past the egress point. The thermocouple wire can include a first lead, a second lead, and a third lead. The first, second, and third leads can be disposed within a common jacket between the ingress point and the egress point. A thermocouple sensor can be disposed in the inner region and be coupled with the first, second, and third leads of the thermocouple wire to provide sensed temperature information.
