Described herein are a channel, system and method for monitoring voltages. Typically, the system includes multiple channels, each for sampling one of the voltages. The channels are physically and electrically coupled to a back end board on which is mounted a field programmable gate array (FPGA) that instructs the channels to simultaneously sample the voltages. Optionally, the channel is powered using an power supply that is isolated from the back end board, and transmits information over an electrically isolated connection to the back end board. The channel also includes voltage signal processing circuitry for processing the voltage signal on board the channel, and has stored on it channel identification information composed of at least one of an operating mode of the channel and a serial number of the channel, which can assist with voltage signal processing.

Channel, system and method for monitoring voltages

A data transmission system comprising a data bridge, a reader device, and a network access system. The data bridge comprises an RFID system, a network system, a memory module, and a processor operatively connected between the RFID system and the network system. The data bridge system operates in a first mode using the RFID system and a second mode using the network system. The reader device communicates with the memory module using the RFID system. The network access system communicates with the memory module using the network system.

Systems and methods for transmitting data using near field communications

A data exchange system comprising a device memory module, a device antenna, a device transceiver system comprising a device transceiver module and a device antenna, a power manager, a first switch operable in a first state and a second state, and a power supply for providing power to the device memory module, the device transceiver, and the power manager. When the first switch is in its first state, the device memory module and the device transceiver do not consume sufficient power from the power supply to allow the transfer of data between the device memory module and the host memory. When the first switch is in its second state, the device memory and the device transceiver consume sufficient power from the power supply to allow the transfer of data between the device memory module and the host memory using the host transceiver system.

A locating system, includes at least one initiator configured to operate at a first clock frequency, and to transmit a measurement signal including a first preamble; and at least one transponder configured to operate at a second clock frequency, to receive the measurement signal, and to transmit a response signal to the initiator, the response signal including a second preamble. The initiator is further configured to calculate, based on the response signal, a distance between the initiator and the transponder for determining a location of the transponder.

System and method for real-time locating

Methods for estimating a distance between an originator and a transponder, methods for calculating a fine time adjustment in a radio, computer-readable storage media containing instructions to configure a processor to perform such methods, originators used in a system for estimating a distance to a transponder, and transponders used in a system for estimating a distance to an originator. The methods utilize fine time adjustments to achieve sub-clock cycle time resolution. The methods may utilize offset master clocks. The methods may utilize a round-trip full-duplex configuration or a round-trip half-duplex configuration. The method produces accurate estimates of the distance between two radios.

High-precision radio frequency ranging system

A distancing system for determining a distance between first and second locations comprising mobile and fixed units. The mobile unit is arranged at the first location and comprises first receive and first transmit portions operating at respective first and second frequencies, first and second baseband processors operating based on first and second clock signals, and a first control portion. The fixed unit is arranged at the second location and comprises second receive and transmit portions operating at the respective second and first frequencies, a third baseband processor operating based on a third clock signal, a second control portion, and a mode switch. The configuration of mode switch circuit allows communication between the fixed and mobile units or a determination of the distance between first and second locations.

Distancing and positioning systems and methods

A user configurable control device is particularly suitable for household devices such as remote control transmitters. A variety of function control elements in the form of keys are provided to the consumer who selects a desired set of the control elements. Each of the control elements has a unique pattern of projections molded into the bottom surface. These projections are in operative alignment with an array of membrane switches disposed on a switching substrate within the control device. The control device includes a front panel that is perforated with a pattern of slots. Each of the control elements has a pair of projecting tabs that look the element onto the control panel so that it is securely retained thereon, but may be released if desired. The projections on the bottom of the element extend through the slots in the front panel to the switching substrate below. The particular pattern of projections is unique to each control element and the corresponding pattern of switch contacts closed upon actuation of the control element determines the function that is performed.

User-configurable control device
