A system, method and computer-readable medium for data capture for replication are provided. A data record from a transaction log of a source database indicative of a data element change is retrieved. A DDL command is generated from the retrieved data record. Once generated, the DDL command is distributed for replication to a target database such that the source database and the target database are synchronized.

Continuous change data capture without disruption of DDL

A system providing improved methods for data replication is described. A method for replicating a transaction from a primary database to a replicate database while the replicate database remains available for use comprises: recording information about a transaction being performed at a primary database in a transaction log; synchronously copying the information about the transaction in the transaction log to a mirrored transaction log; generating a reconstructed transaction based on the information about the transaction copied to the mirrored transaction log; and applying the reconstructed transaction at the replicate database while the replicate database remains available for use.

Database system providing improved methods for data replication

A replication system with methodology for replicating stored procedure calls is described. In one embodiment, for example, in a database system without support for logging stored procedure invocations, a method of the present invention is described for replicating invocation of a stored procedure from a primary database to a replicate database, the method comprises steps of: inserting table data into the primary database for storing information sufficiently characterizing the procedure's invocation to allow its replication, the table data being logged to a log file; reading the log file, for determining changes to apply to the replicate database for replicating the procedure's invocation; and reconstructing the procedure's invocation at the replicate database based on the determined changes.
