Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, facilitating communication sessions such as voice calls over a plurality of radios of the wireless PBX via one or more carriers, where the wireless PBX includes a plurality of Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) and a plurality of radios, wherein there are a maximum number of concurrent communication sessions permitted that are fewer than a number of the plurality of SIMs; determining that the maximum number of concurrent communication sessions has been reached; and responsive to reaching the maximum number of concurrent communication sessions, facilitating establishing an outgoing voice call via a WiFi connection. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting, over a network, a call originating from a call originator and intended for a user of a user equipment, responsive to the detecting the call, determining whether to challenge the call originator, based on a determination to challenge the call originator, transmitting a request to the call originator, wherein the request prompts the call originator to specify an identity of the call originator and a purpose for the call, obtaining information from a call originator input responsive to the transmitting the request, deriving enhanced Caller Name or Caller ID data that includes the information, and causing the enhanced Caller Name or Caller ID data to be provided to the user equipment, thereby enabling the user of the user equipment to determine whether to answer the call. Method and system for challenging potential unwanted calls

Methods, systems, and computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for receiving, from a mobile device, a request to register with a mobility network, the mobile device including a partially-activated subscriber identification module (SIM); determining that the partially-activated SIM qualifies for on-device activation; in response to determining that the partially-activated SIM qualifies for on-device activation, providing a short message service (SMS) message to the mobile device through the mobility network, the SMS message including a uniform resource locator (URL); in response to activation of the URL, providing, to the mobile device, access to an activation portal web page associated with the URL, wherein SIM data and device data are automatically provided to the activation portal web page; and receiving, from the mobile device, activation data, and in response, activating the SIM and provisioning the mobile device within the mobility network.
