An electronic device includes a processor, a sensor module, and a display device. The display device includes a display panel including a normal display region in which first pixels are disposed, and a light transmission region in which second pixels are disposed, the light transmission region overlapping the sensor module, and a panel driver driving the display panel based on input image data received from the processor, and transferring light transmission region position information representing a position of the light transmission region to the processor. The processor performs a masking operation on the input image data for the light transmission region based on the light transmission region position information in a first mode.

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a display panel driver. The display panel includes a first display area having a first pixel structure and a second display area having a second pixel structure different from the first pixel structure. The display panel driver drives the display panel in a first mode when an image complexity of input image data corresponding to a determination area which includes the first display area is greater than a threshold value and to drive the display panel in a second mode different from the first mode when the image complexity of the input image data is less than or equal to the threshold value.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device includes a display panel with a first display area having a first light transmittance and a second display area having a second light transmittance higher than the first light transmittance. The display device also includes a driving controller which divides an image signal into a first image signal corresponding to a first pixel unit in the first display area and a second image signal corresponding to a second pixel unit and a non-pixel unit adjacent to the second pixel unit. The display controller calculates the second image signal with a preset kernel matrix, and outputs a data signal corresponding to the second pixel unit in the second display area.

A display device includes a display panel and a drive controller. The drive controller classifies an input image signal into a first image signal and a second image signal. The drive controller generates a data histogram by classifying the second image signal based on a plurality of gray levels and selects a first algorithm or a second algorithm based on a number of second image signals included in a part of the plurality of gray levels of the data histogram. The second algorithm calculates a second result value based on a first result value obtained based on the second image signal and a preset kernel matrix, and the drive controller outputs a first data signal corresponding to the second pixel unit in the second display region based on the second result value when the second algorithm is selected.

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a first coordinate calculator, a second coordinate calculator and a gamma setter. The display panel includes a first display area and a second display area. The first coordinate calculator is configured to calculate color coordinates of first image data of the first display area. The second coordinate calculator is configured to calculate color coordinates of second image data of the second display area. The gamma setter is configured to adjust luminance of the first image data, the color coordinates of the first image data, luminance of the second image data and the color coordinates of the second image data.
