Method for determining a current gaze direction of a user in relation to a three-dimensional ('3D') scene, the 3D scene being sampled by a rendering function to produce at least one projection image of the 3D scene, wherein the method comprises the steps: determining, by a reprojection means, a reprojection transformation to be applied to the projection image before being displayed so as to be visible to the user at a gaze time point; determining, by a gaze direction detection means, a physical gaze direction of the user at said gaze time point; and determining a modified gaze direction of the user at said gaze time point, the modified gaze direction being determined in relation to the 3D scene based on both the physical gaze direction and the reprojection transformation. The disclosure also relates to a system and to a computer software function.

Method and system for determining a current gaze direction

There is provided systems, methods and computer program products for generating motion blur on image frames, comprising: obtaining gaze data related to an eye movement between consecutive images, determining movement of at least one object in relation to said gaze data by calculating the difference in position of said at least one object and said gaze data between the image frames, forming a motion blur vector and applying a motion blur on an image frame based on said motion blur vector.

The present disclosure relates to a method for displaying an image with a specific depth of field. The method comprises the steps of obtaining information data related to a focal distance adapted to a user gazing at a display, determining a pupil size of said user, estimating a depth of field of said user's eyes based on said focal distance and said pupil size, and rendering an image based on said depth of field to be displayed on said display. Method and system for rendering an image with a pupil enhanced accommodation of the eye

Technologies for improving foveated rendering of an image by improving the position of the image to be displayed through image re-projection are disclosed. For example, a method may include receiving a first estimation of a predicted gaze point of a user on a display device that is determined before starting rendering a high-quality portion of the image. The method may further include causing the image to be rendered based on the first estimation of the predicted gaze point. The method may also include receiving a second estimation of the predicted gaze point. The second estimation of the predicted gaze point is determined after rendering of the high-quality portion of the image has started. Responsive to determining that the second estimation of the predicted gaze point is different from the first estimation, the method may include adjusting the rendered image based on the second estimation of the predicted gaze point and transmitting the adjusted image to the display device for display.

Image re-projection for foveated rendering

A method for rotating a field of view represented by a displayed image is disclosed. The method may include displaying a first image representing a first field of view. The method may also include determining a gaze direction of a user toward the first image. The method may further include identifying a subject in the first image at which the gaze direction is directed, wherein the subject is in a first direction from a center of the first image. The method may further include receiving a directional input in a second direction. The method may additionally include, based at least in part on the second direction being substantially the same as the first direction, displaying a second image representing a second field of view, wherein the subject is centered in the second image.

Disclosed herein is a system comprising a display, at least one imaging device for capturing at least one user image of at least part of the user, a determination unit connected to the at least one imaging device, said determination unit being used for determining information relating to the user's eye based on the at least one user image. The system further comprises a scene renderer connected to the display and the determination unit, the scene renderer being used to generate a first image on the display, whereby the scene renderer is configured to generate at least a partially modified image relative to the first image in real time, without the user noticing, based on the information relating to the user's eye.

Systems and methods for displaying images in a virtual world environment

According to the invention, a system for presenting graphics on a display device is disclosed. The system may include an eye tracking device for determining a gaze point of a user on a display device. The system may also include a graphics processing device for causing graphics to be displayed on the display device. The graphics displayed on the display device may be modified such that the graphics in an area including the gaze point of the user have at least one modified parameter relative to graphics outside the area. The size of the area may be based at least in part on an amount of noise in the gaze point over time and at least one other secondary factor.
