A fan assembly designed for quick assembly and disassembly can include a housing, a fan and a motor disposed within the housing, a first guard located on a first side and a second guard located on a second side of the housing. The fan assembly can include a tensioner mechanism provided on an exterior of the housing to secure the first and the second guards to the housing. The fan assembly can be assembled by securing a plurality of struts to an interior side of a housing, mounting a fan and motor to the plurality of struts, inserting first and second guards within the housing proximate the inlet and outlet ends, and tensioning the first and second free ends of the housing to secure the first and second guards within the housing.

A Short Message Serving System (SMSC) can be configured to determine a format of a short service message (SMS) message with a read acknowledgement request. The SMSC can also be configured to generate a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) multi-segment short message that includes user data from the SMS message and comprises a plurality of ordered segments. The GSM multi-segment short message can include a read acknowledgement request.

Use of information-elements (IE) to enable global system for mobile communications (GSM) devices to support read acknowledgements for text messaging, e.g., short message service (SMS). A GSM device inserts a read acknowledgement request Information-Element (IE) into the body of an SMS message to request that a read acknowledgement be returned to the sending device upon opening. When a GSM recipient device opens an SMS message with a read acknowledgement request IE, the GSM recipient device creates a read acknowledgement SMS message by populating a read acknowledgement message indicator IE, inserting the read acknowledgement message IE into an SMS message, and forwarding the read acknowledgement SMS message to an originating GSM device. Read acknowledgement IEs have a message value that allows a mobile device to associate a read acknowledgement with a particular SMS message. A short message service center (SMSC) supports interoperability between GSM, CDMA, IP, MME, and SMPP read acknowledgements.

The leveling device includes a panel of expanded metal that is maintained in a planar or flat condition by means of a plurality of laterally spaced fins, the expanded metal being welded to the lower edges of the fins. Welded to the upper edges of the fins and extending transversely thereacross are two rods to which is centrally secured an angle member or bracket. One flange portion of the angle member has welded thereto the lower end of a tubular handle. A combined spreading and sifting action is derived by moving the device back and forth across the soil to be leveled, some of the material being scooped onto the upper side of the panel between the various fins where it remains if too large to be sifted downwardly through the diamond-shaped openings in the panel of expanded metal.

Various sheet-like materials require fastening to the ground. Included in such materials is a blanket comprised of netting and excelsior. A device for driving U-shaped anchors downwardly so as to secure the blanket to the ground at selected locations comprises a shoe having a sole plate that is adapted to engage the netting or other upper surface of whatever sheet-like material is to be anchored. The sole plate has a transverse slot through which a plunger is moved downwardly when a U-shaped anchor has been advanced into alignment beneath the plunger. The plunger is carried at the lower end of a reciprocable piston rod which has a piston at its upper end. By means of a foot-operable valve, compressed air is introduced into the upper end of the cylinder, thereby forcing the piston, the piston rod and the plunger downwardly so as to force an anchor into the ground. The downward movement of the plunger is limited by means of a stop that is struck by a collar attached to the lower end of the piston rod. The device is portable and can be readily transported from site to site in the anchoring of sheet-like material which can include sod and various flexible plastic sheets.
