A shorting plug for a pulsed power system is provided, having a rotator assembly at least partially nested within a cam housing and at least partially rotatable within the cam housing with respect to a cam rail that operably engages the rotator assembly to transition between a shorted mode of operation and an open mode of operation. During the shorted mode of operation, a pair of electrical contacts extend from the cam housing to operably engage the electrical contacts electrically connected to a energy storage device such as a capacitor, while the electrical contacts are retracted and rotated within the cam housing during the open mode of operation. The rotator assembly is connected to a housing cap, which allows the operator to transition the shorting plug between the two modes of operation. The shorting plug also contains a first latch mechanism that operably engages the housing cap during the shorted mode of operation, and a second latch mechanism that operably engages the housing during the open mode of operation. During transition between the shorted and open modes of operation, a vertical load, a horizontal load and a rotational load are applied by the operator to overcome the horizontal load and rotational locking mechanism provided by the first and second latch mechanisms, a downward vertical load applied to the rotator assembly that operably engages the cam rail, and the cam rail that provides a rotational limit of the rotator assembly without an upward vertical load being applied.

Tactical shorting plug

An output connector for a high voltage, high current power unit, including a plug assembly including a dielectric plug body having two conductive biplates arranged generally parallel to each other. The two conductive biplates abut a dielectric biplate backer and the two conductive biplates are separated by the dielectric biplate backer. A header assembly includes a dielectric header body presenting two substantially parallel, inwardly facing, vertical support walls on opposing sides of the receptacle recess. A bus bar assembly includes two contactors coupled to a flexible bus bar and abutting the vertical support walls. The two contactors are arranged such that a space exists between the contactors. A ring assembly is couplable to the plug assembly and structured to force the plug assembly axially inward to the header assembly whereby the biplates and the biplate backer are forced between the contactors.

A very high density storage system comprising a storage grid having a number of storage cells and individual cargo carriers where a cargo carrier is stored in a storage cell. The storage system uses a unique set of individually actuatable gear drives on both the top and bottom of each storage cell, but installed at 90 degrees to each other, to move the cargo carrier to a specific storage cell. Software controls and manages the location of each cargo carrier such that when a specific cargo carrier is desired, software instructions cause the cargo carriers to be shuffled within the storage grid until the desired cargo carrier is located at the desired position, such as an unloading position.

Storage system

A weapon system having a gun barrel and an in bore air regulation system. The gun barrel has a first end and a second end. The gun barrel has a bore formed therein that extends from the first end towards the second end. The bore is adapted to receive a round. The in bore air regulation system is operably attached to the gun barrel so that the in bore air regulation system is in communication with the bore to regulate air pressure in the bore and thereby control the position of the round in the bore.

A method and apparatus for launching and recovering an object by a host vessel while the host vessel is in motion. The recovery system utilizes a tethered capture system for connecting with the object and then directing the object to the host vessel where it is secured. The tethered capture system includes one or more side planers that direct a capture cable away from the host vessel. The capture cable is preferably disposed below the waterline through the use of a diving rig or extended cable struts so that the cable does not foul the propeller of the object to be recovered. The side planer itself may include a ramped surface for loading the object prior to securing to the host vessel. After the capture, the object may be secured by way of a boom attached to the host vessel or by a lifting cradle that selectively extends aft of the host vessel.

Launch and recovery system

A power hammer assembly providing forming capabilities while remaining economical with respect to performance, vibration, footprint size and acquisition costs. The power hammer assembly can provide for a single stroke speed and/or a single set stroke with respect to the striking of die assemblies against a piece of metal. The power hammer assembly can provide for a large throat area and/or a larger die gap for ease of use. The power hammer assembly can include adjustment features allowing for the use of die sets of varying configurations such as, for example, shank size, shank length or alternatively, die sets fabricated for use with other machinery. In addition, the power hammer assembly can include a belt transmission assembly designed to slip in the event of die interference during set-up or operation so as to avoid damaging the power hammer assembly.

A system for stowing and deploying a mortar from a transport vehicle employs a hoist mechanism, a support frame, a pair of guide arms and a barrel-support strut attached to a transport vehicle. The support frame is adapted to be temporarily engaged with the mortar barrel, the base plate and the pair of stabilizer arms of the mortar to prevent relative motion between them during stowing and deployment. The hoist mechanism has a lift arm that pivots between a retracted and a deployed position. One end of the lift arm is hook shaped for detachable engagement with the support frame. A pair of guide arms extend in spaced parallel relation from the rear of the vehicle and serve to guide a trajectory of the mortar as it is being stowed or lowered to the ground.

Mortar deployment and storage system

A vehicle for use on a battlefield, having a hull with at least one endless track unit mounted underneath, and with a plurality of selectively vertically moveable wheels. The endless track unit may cover substantially all of the bottom side of the vehicle and may wrap upward to cover a portion of the front of the vehicle. The vehicle may be operated with only the wheels, the wheels and the endless track unit in combination, or only the endless track unit in contact with the ground. The vehicle has a height variable suspension element, which may be a hydro-pneumatic spring, coupled to each wheel. The suspension elements are connected with a power unit and a control unit to allow selective controllability of suspension height, and corresponding extension or retraction of the wheels. The wheels may also be provided with a resilient suspension mechanism that is either separate or formed by the height variable suspension elements. The vehicle may have a plurality of motors, each motor driving a separate wheel, and the wheels may be operable at separately selectable speeds. The endless track unit may have multiple driving rollers, each driving roller having a separate driving motor. Further, the endless track unit may have a rigid suspension.

Wheeled-tracked vehicle hybrid

A multi-purpose missile launcher system for a military land vehicle that has the capability for direct targeting both short and medium range land targets, as well launching missiles against longer-range land targets or air targets using indirect targeting. The multi-purpose missile launcher system is deployed as part of a modular weapon system that mates with a modular bed of the military land vehicle.

A rotatable breech gun including a breech assembly, a breech housing, and a gun barrel. The breech assembly has a breech bore formed therein that receives ammunition loaded through an end thereof. The breech housing has at least one side member oriented parallel to the breech bore. The breech assembly is rotatably mounted in the breech housing. The gun barrel has a gun bore extending therethrough. The gun barrel is operably connected to the breech housing such that the gun bore is aligned with the breech bore when the breech assembly is rotated in position within the breech housing. The breech assembly and the breech housing further include corresponding mating structures proximate at least one end of the breech bore such that forces generated by ignition of ammunition in the breech bore are transmitted to both the breech assembly and the at least one side member of the breech housing.

Rotatable breech gun

A multi-purpose missile launcher system for a military land vehicle that has the capability for direct targeting both short and medium range land targets, as well launching missiles against longer-range land targets or air targets using indirect targeting. The mulit-purpose missile launcher system is deployed as part of a modular weapon system that mates with a modular bed of the military land vehicle.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for remote surface fire support. The remote surface fire support system of the present invention is designed to operate close to shore. The system is adapted to be deployed by a variety of means and remains concealed beneath the water's surface until it is to be launched. The system includes a plurality of munitions containers which can be deployed by submarines, surface ships or aircraft. The munitions containers each carry a guided munition which can be controlled by a networked fire control system such as NFCS.

Remote fire system

The invention provides a method and apparatus for firing a guided projectile. The invention provides a matrix of one time shot gun systems. Each one time shot gun system has a one time shot barrel, a one time shot recoil system, a propelling charge, breakable seal, and a guided projectile which is stored in and from the barrel. The one time shot system provides an inexpensive firing system, which eliminates single points of failure that exist in conventional gun systems.
