A method may include receiving a first transaction record indicating a first interaction with a first raw quantity of a first medication and a second transaction record indicating a second interaction with a second raw quantity of a second medication. The first transaction record and the second transaction record may be normalized by generating, based on an equivalent unit, a first normalized quantity of the first medication and a second normalized quantity of the second medication. A machine learning model may be applied to the normalized first transaction record and second transaction record to detect, based on the first transaction record and the second transaction record, an anomalous behavior. An investigative workflow may be triggered in response to the machine learning model detecting the anomalous behavior. A method for detecting diversion may include identifying an activity pattern associated with a clinician as being an infrequent activity pattern that occurs below a threshold frequency. An expected density of a fluid drug can be determined from the measured mass of a fluid drug and the intended volume of the fluid drug to be delivered to a medication container. The expected density can be compared to previously calculated densities for the fluid to verify the accuracy of a reference density value, verify the measurements and functional status of the measuring device for the fluid drug, and, in some instances, provide control or configuration commands to adjust one or more devices.

An electronic medication storage cabinet includes a plurality of drawers configured with a plurality of sensors arranged to identify a positioning of storage pockets within the drawers. Upon receiving an indication of a new medicine container to be loaded in the cabinet, a sequence of steps to load the medicine container into the cabinet is generated based on a mapping algorithm. A first step is displayed on a display the cabinet, and a determination is made as to whether the first step is associated with one of the plurality of drawers. In response to determining that the first step is associated with one of the plurality of drawers, the drawer is automatically unlocked. Systems and methods for performing load optimization of medications in an electronic medication storage cabinet

Systems and methods are provided for identifying and tracking diverters of controlled medications. A system may receive signals indicative of medication dispensing activities by one or more health care providers such as nurses, physicians, or pharmacists. Based on the received signals, the system may determine suspected diverters and provide a graphical interface identifying corresponding factors related to usage, waste, dosage, or other factors associated with the suspected diverters. The graphical interface may provide a list of top diverters and display dispensing transactions performed at a dispensing device.

Controlled substance diversion detection systems and methods

A system for preparing compounded medication doses is disclosed. The system includes a computerized medication compounding workstation configured to receive a batch compounded medication dose order over a network and retrieve an electronically stored protocol having a set of steps to prepare compounded medication doses specified by the batch compounded medication dose order. The example workstation is also configured to display, on a graphical user interface to a pharmacy operator, information related to the set of steps for preparing the compounded medication doses and receive input related to the preparation of the compounded medication doses including at least medication information scanned from at least one source medication container and a digital image from a digital camera. The workstation verifies completion for each step before allowing the pharmacy operator to move to a next step to prepare the compounded medication doses.

A system is provided for storage and reconstitution of IV solutions. The system may include one or more storage and reconstitution devices each configured to store and manipulate IV solution containers containing IV solutions in crystalline form that include hydration chemicals and therapeutic drugs. Crystalline hydration chemicals may include crystalline salts and sugars. The containers may be dimensionally precise enough for mechanical manipulation and configured such that sharp objects such as needles are not needed for fluid delivery to or from the container. Each storage and reconstitution device may store stacked containers and may include components for retrieval of a container from the storage and for reconstitution of the contents therein using a sterile water source within the device. IV doses may be manufactured, under appropriate standards, that can be mechanically reconstituted to produce high-quality doses in real time on the patient care unit or in the pharmacy.
