The invention relates to methods for processing ion-spectrometric measurement signal data which are recorded spatially resolved across a two-dimensional sample, comprising: —providing the measurement signal data which have a plurality of measurement signal histograms, where a histogram contains a measurement signal tuple with intensity dimension (J), mass dimension (m), and collision cross-section dimension (σ), or quantities derived therefrom; —specifying first and second selections of ionic species for the sample, whose presence in histograms is detectable and distinguishable using the collision cross-section dimension or proxy; —determining the spatially resolved content of ionic species from the first and second selections in histograms of the finite areas (A), and computing the various contents to form spatially resolved content scores (G); and—labeling the sample with the content scores (G). The invention also relates to methods for acquiring and processing ion-spectrometric measurement signal data, and ion mobility-mass spectrometers.

Processing of spatially resolved, ion-spectrometric measurement signal data to determine molecular content scores in two-dimensional samples

The invention relates to a method for the determination and visualization of the spatial distribution of tissue states of a tissue sample, wherein a mass/mobility map is acquired at each of a plurality of sample sites of the tissue sample, the signal heights at each sample site are determined at characteristic signal positions in the corresponding mass/mobility map, from which a tissue state for each sample site is calculated with the aid of a mathematical/statistical classification algorithm, and the spatial distribution of the tissue states calculated for the sample sites is represented graphically.

Mass spectrometric determination of tissue states

A method for computer-assisted analysis of one or more tissue sections of the human or animal body for preparing a digital stain test is provided. During the digital stain test, tissue zones in a tested tissue section with a predetermined clinical picture are detected. Spatially resolved hyperspectral data, particularly mass spectrometry data, is processed for a plurality of measurement positions. Multiple base spectra are determined from the hyperspectral data by obtaining base vectors. The base spectra are correlated with the hyperspectral data such that a plurality of correlation values for the base spectra is obtained for each measurement position. Subsequently, a regression model is calculated using a regression method, the regression model describing a mask of the one or more tissue sections, in which mask diseased tissue zones are marked based on the calculated correlation values. The regression model and the base spectra can then be used to conduct the digital stain test.

Method for computer-assisted analysis of one or more tissue sections of the human or animal body

Disclosed are methods for analyzing the effect of a test substance on biological and/or biochemical samples in which a plurality of samples, each comprising a known concentration of the test substance in at least three different concentrations, are used to obtain measurements which provide raw data. An evaluation rule utilizes the raw data of the sample determining the effect of the test substance, at the particular concentration, on the sample. The evaluation rule is influenced by at least one control parameter, and at least one starting value for the at least one control parameter is determined. The raw data is evaluated and correspondence between the determined activities and a functional model resulting from theoretical considerations yields a dose/effect curve describing the dependence of the activities on the concentration of the test substance. The steps are modified and repeated until an abort criterion has been reached.
