A power tool comprises an adjustable auxiliary handle assembly that facilities safe use of the tool by the operator while allowing convenient carry and storage of the tool when not in use. The adjustable auxiliary handle assembly comprises an indexing mechanism that includes an angled connector, a slidable latching mechanism and a handle base. The indexing mechanism allows a longitudinal handle to rotate and be locked in a position convenient and comfortable to the operator. The indexing mechanism is adjustable and can be operated with one hand (e.g., one-handed operation). The latching mechanism holds the auxiliary handle position in place while allowing the power tool to be used in high-torque/high load applications.

Impact tool

A power tool is provided that, in one version, includes a front housing that supports an output drive, and a back cap located opposite the front housing. The back cap receives at least one fastener of the plurality of fasteners. A motor housing supports a motor and is located between the front housing and the back cap. The motor includes a rotor that is configured to rotate about a motor axis to drive rotation of the output drive. The fastener is disposed through the back cap, and secures to the front housing coupling the front housing, the motor housing, and the back cap together.

An illustrative embodiment of the present disclosure provides hand-held power tool which includes a housing, a motor, and an output spindle. The housing supports a motor having a rotor configured to rotate when the motor is supplied with power. The output spindle protrudes from an output end of the housing, and is functionally coupled to the rotor such that the output spindle rotates in response to a rotation of the rotor. The housing also supports at least one electrical accessory that is connectable to an external power connector located on the housing.

In at least one illustrative embodiment, a cordless power tool battery may comprise a housing, a power storage unit, a first release button, and a second release button. The housing may have a first side wall and a second side wall spaced apart from the first side wall. The first release button may be coupled to the housing and extend along more than half of the first side wall of the housing. The second release button may be coupled to the housing and extend along more than half the second side wall of the housing.

The belt sander includes a gear casing coupled to a tool housing, the gear casing surrounding one or more gears configured to receive input from a motor to drive a shaft about a drive axis. The belt sander includes a belt arm assembly having a belt arm, the belt configured to translate in response to input from the shaft. The belt sander includes a plurality of incrementally spaced apart receivers on the gear casing and an engagement member in operational communication with the belt arm assembly, the engagement member being movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, wherein in the locked position the engagement member engages a receiver to fix the belt arm assembly incrementally relative to the gear casing, and wherein in the unlocked position the belt arm assembly freely rotates relative to the belt arm assembly to pivot the belt arm about the drive axis.
