A computer implemented method for determining a vehicle type of a vehicle detected in an image is disclosed. An image having a detected vehicle is received. A number of vehicle models having salient feature points is projected on the detected vehicle. A first set of features derived from each of the salient feature locations of the vehicle models is compared to a second set of features derived from corresponding salient feature locations of the detected vehicle to form a set of positive match scores (p-scores) and a set of negative match scores (n-scores). The detected vehicle is classified as one of the vehicle models based at least in part on the set of p-scores and the set of n-scores.

3-D model based method for detecting and classifying vehicles in aerial imagery

A computer implemented method for determining a vehicle type of a vehicle detected in an image is disclosed. An image having a detected vehicle is received. A number of vehicle models having salient feature points is projected on the detected vehicle. A first set of features derived from each of the salient feature locations of the vehicle models is compared to a second set of features derived from corresponding salient feature locations of the detected vehicle to form a set of positive match scores (p-scores) and a set of negative match scores (n-scores). The detected vehicle is classified as one of the vehicle models models based at least in part on the set of p-scores and the set of n-scores.

An improved two layer electrode structure is fabricated on a surface. According to one aspect of the invention, the first layer of the electrode structure is designed to provide electrical contact to a fluid electronic material and the second layer of the electrode structure is formed so as to constrain the fluid electronic material in a precise pattern. Alternatively, the second layer of the two-layer electrode structure includes a low surface energy material to further assist in constraining the fluid electronic material to the desired pattern. In another alternative, the first layer of the electrode structure includes a transparent electrode material, that is coupled to an electro-optical device. The second layer of this electrode structure includes a high conductivity material that is coupled to the first layer of the electrode structure in an area not directly over the electro-optical device to improve the conductivity of the transparent electrode structure.

Electrode structure which supports self alignment of liquid deposition of materials

A tiled display device is formed from display tiles having picture element (pixel) positions defined up to the edge of the tiles. Each tile includes a memory which stores display data, and pixel driving circuitry which controls the scanning and illumination of the pixels on the tile. The tiles are formed in two parts, an electronics section and a display section. Each of these parts includes connecting pads which cover several pixel positions. Each connecting pad makes an electrical connection to only one row electrode or column electrode. The connecting pads on the display section are electrically connected and physically joined to corresponding connecting pads on the electronics section to form a complete tile.

Tiled electronic display structure

A tiled display structure is formed containing a plurality of image tiles. A method for assembling a tiled display structure that includes a transparent front panel and a plurality of image tiles is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: (1) heating a heat activated adhesive to a working temperature; (2) applying the softened adhesive to the front surface of the display section of an image tile, or the inner surface of the transparent front panel; (3) aligning the surface of the display section of the image tile with the inner surface of the transparent front panel; (4) cooling the adhesive. Another aspect of the invention is a modular method of repairing a tiled display structure, which includes a transparent front panel, a heat activated adhesive, and a plurality of image tiles.

Tiled electronic display structure and method for modular repair thereof

A woven article comprises a plurality of electrically insulating and/or electrically conductive yarn in the warp and a plurality of electrically insulating and/or electrically conductive yarn in the weft interwoven with the yarn in the warp. A functional yarn in the warp and/or the weft comprises an elongate substrate including at least one electrical conductor and at least one electronic device thereon, wherein the at least one electrical conductor provides directly and/or indirectly an electrical contact for connecting to the electronic device.

Woven electronic textile, yarn and article

A tiled display device is formed from display tiles having picture element (pixel) positions defined up to the edge of the tiles. Each pixel position has an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) active area which occupies approximately 25 percent of the pixel area. Each tile includes a memory which stores display data, and pixel driving circuitry which controls the scanning and illumination of the pixels on the tile. The pixel driving circuitry is located on the back side of the tile and connections to pixel electrodes on the front side of the tile are made by vias which pass through portions of selected ones of the pixel areas which are not occupied by the active pixel material. The tiles are to formed in two parts, an electronics section and a display section. Each of these parts includes connecting pads which cover several pixel positions. Each connecting pad makes an electrical connection to only one row electrode or column electrode. The connecting pads on the display section are electrically connected and physically joined to corresponding connecting pads on the electronics section to form a complete tile. Each tile has a glass substrate on the front of the tile. Black matrix lines are formed on the front of the glass substrate and the tiles are joined by mullions which have the same appearance as the black-matrix lines. Alternatively, the black matrix lines may be formed on the inside surface of an optical integrating plate and the tiles may be affixed to the integrating plate such that the edges of the joined tiles are covered by the black-matrix lines. A cathodoluminescent tile structure is formed from individual tiles that have multiple phosphor areas, a single emissive cathode and horizontal and vertical electrostatic deflecting grids which deflect the electron beam produced by the single cathode onto multiple ones of the phosphor areas.

A display may be formed of a plurality of abutted tiles, each tile contributing a portion of the overall displayed image. Optical elements may be selectively situated between pixels to improve the optical performance of the display. In some embodiments, these optical elements may facilitate the use of relatively thicker cover glasses over the display tiles.

Providing optical elements over emissive displays

Thin glass sheets may be processed in an effective fashion by electrostatically charging the sheets and applying them to an oppositely electrostatically charged carrier sheet. After processing is completed the carrier sheet may be removed and the processed sheet may be applied to its intended application such as to act as the front panel of an electronic display.

Processing relatively thin glass sheets

Relatively thick glass panels can be utilized in displays formed in a modular fashion. Modular displays may include a plurality of tiles having glass panels which are abutted together to present a composite display. The image generated by the composite display is made up of the images of each of the tiles. Tiles with front glass panels that are relatively thick may be utilized without unduly blocking light emitted from the display or creating relatively visible seams between adjacent tiles. This may be done by providing a pattern of black lines that separates the individual pixels including mullions over gaps between adjacent tiles and index matching the gaps to the transparent layers.

Reducing the visibility of seams of modular displays

A lenticular screen component of a rear projection display screen has lenticular elements formed on a viewer surface. Identical lenticular elements cover the entire lenticular screen component and are repeated horizontally at a constant displacement. A given lenticular element includes a pair of reflective side portions and a refractive tip portion interposed between the side portions. One of the pair of side portions forms a sloped region at a joint between the one side portion and a side portion of an adjacent lenticular element. The sloped region is at an angle in a range between 5 and 15 degrees with respect to the first axis. The one side portion is covered with a reflective coating in at least a region of the one side portion that includes the joint. The pair of reflective side portions reflects light rays incoming from a projector towards the refractive tip portion for refracting the reflected light rays via a surface of the refractive tip portion facing a viewer. Each refracted light ray is refracted by a convex surface of the refractive tip portion.
