A bone fixation system includes a bone plate having bi-directional combination holes extending therethrough, each hole being composed of a pair of domains and an interconnect which prevents the holes from overlapping. Each of the holes is configured and dimensioned to receive a set of full head bone screws adapted to be anchored into a bone or fragments thereof. The system also includes a pair of bone screws received in at least one of the combination holes, each bone screw having a shaft and a full head and being oriented in non-parallel directions. A surgical device and method used to assist in the surgical repair of damaged and/or severed tendons. In the present invention, the device is comprised of a distal conical member, having an inner and outer surface, a tapered tip, a rounded end, and windowed openings on either side of axial centerline passing through the inner and outer surfaces. In the same embodiment, the device is comprised of a proximal concave convex member with an inner and outer surface, a tapered tip, and a rounded end, tapering both in width and thickness to the tip. The present invention further discloses a method of passing a severed flexor tendon through the tendon sheathing to the repair site aiding in the passage of the severed tendon through the edges of the pulleys in the flexor tendon sheath, wherein the distal conical member of the device disclosed in the present invention is introduced into the edge of a flexor tendon sheath's pulley and a severed tendon end is passed along the inner surface of the conical member allowing the tendon to be reintroduced into the sheathing with minimal trauma. The present invention further discloses a method of dilation of the pulleys in the flexor tendon sheath, wherein the proximal concave convex member of the device disclosed in the present invention is introduced into the edge of a flexor tendon sheath's pulley to a desire depth and left in place until the desired amount of dilation is achieved the tendon is then introduced back into the sheathing utilizing the afore described method.

A fixation system includes a plate intended to be positioned against a bone, a plurality of bone screws for securing the plate along an non-fractured portion of the bone, and a plurality of bone pegs which extend from the plate and into bone fragments of the fracture to provide a supporting framework. The pegs can be oriented at various angles relative to an axis normal to the lower surface of the plate. For each peg, once the peg has been appropriately positioned within the peg hole, a set screw is threaded into the peg hole and tightened, thereby securing the peg in the selected orientation.

A system includes a drill guide and a gauge wire. The drill guide has two arms rotatable relative to each other about a hinge, with each arm including a split portion of a guide. When the arms are in a closed configuration, the split portions come together to form a tubular guide. Because the arms can be opened and closed about the hinge, the guide can be split and removed from over a drill bit or pin without first removing the drill bit from the bone or the drill from the drill bit or pin. Each arm also includes a semicircular form which when the arms are closed defines a gauge wire hole parallel to the guide which is sized to receive a gauge wire. The gauge wire includes depth indicia along its length which is used to indicate the length of a fixation device for use in a procedure.

A fixation system includes a plate intended to be positioned against a bone, a plurality of bone screws for securing the plate along a non-fractured portion of the bone, and a plurality of bone pegs which extend from the plate and into bone fragments of the fracture to provide a supporting framework. The pegs can be oriented at various angles relative to an axis normal to be lower surface of the plate. For each peg, once the peg has been appropriately positioned within the peg hole, a set screw is threaded into the peg hole and tightened, thereby securing the peg in the selected orientation.

An internal fixation pin comprises first and second portions with threads of different diameters, but having the same pitch and thread depth. The first portion includes a self-tapping tip. No enlarged head portion is provided to the pin at the end opposite the tip. A non-threaded shaft portion is frangibly connected to the second portion and is a mechanism for rotating the pin for threaded insertion into bone. A plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart longitudinal grooves are provided on the second portion adjacent its intersection with the shaft portion. After insertion of the first and second portions across a fracture, the shaft portion is removed. The grooves permit rotation of the pin for removal should removal be necessary. A driver for pin removal is also provided, as well as a mill tool.
