The method and apparatus employs a frequency sensitive electric motor and control system to measure the adhesive bond between a carrier tape and a cover tape adapted to carry miniature components. The adhesive bond strength is dynamically tested and recorded by separating the cover tape from the carrier tape as an energizing signal of predetermined frequency is applied to a frequency sensitive motor for a predetermined period of time while the force required to cause adhesive bond failure is measured and recorded.

Method and apparatus for testing tape bond strength

A control circuit for connection between a battery charger and a battery being charged, which includes a control switch in series between the charger and battery for disconnecting the battery under a variety of conditions including improper connection, loss of battery charger power, improper connection, and shorting of terminals. A switch connected in the series between a battery charger is closed in response to a low voltage condition in a battery and is open in response to a fully charged condition of the battery. An over-current circuit opens the switch and disconnects the battery charger from the battery when excessive currents are detected in the control system. An under voltage circuit also keeps the switch open when low voltages are detected prior to connection to a battery thus protecting the circuit from short circuits and similar mishaps in the connection of the charger and battery. A ripple detecting circuit constantly monitors the entire system and opens the switch between the battery charger and battery when power is not delivered from a battery charger thus preventing discharge of the battery through the control circuit systems.

Control circuit for battery charger

A taped parts counter which includes a photosensor system for counting the number of small parts encapsulated and carried by a storage tape. The small parts are contained in the storage tape at pre-determined and equal intervals. The intervals have a space relationship to drive holes in the edge of a storage tape. Movement of the storage tape past a sprocket drives a radiation interrupter wheel on which fins interrupt a radiation source in direct relationship to the parts moving past the sprocket. An electrical signal is generated by a photosensitive device as radiation from the radiation source strikes the photosensitive device. The electrical signals are counted by an electrical counting circuit.

Taped parts counter

A motor control circuit comprising a switching circuit which controls the supply of power from a source thereof to a motor responsive to a control signal, and a speed control circuit which generates the control signal. The speed control circuit can vary the motor speed cyclically, operating as an stable multi-vibrator. An overload protection circuit detects the occurrence of a current overload condition and either reduces to a low level the power delivered to the motor or inhibits the switching circuit's operation altogether.

Cyclic speed motor control circuit

An alarm system for transmitting an alarm signal between remote locations utilizing frequency shift keying over conventional power lines. The alarm system includes a transmitter having a nominal frequency and circuitry for modulating the transmitter frequency. Upon detection of an alarm condition the modulating circuitry is disabled. A receiver is provided and has circuitry for detecting the presence or absence of modulation of the transmitter frequency. The receiver generates an alarm signal upon detection of absence of modulation and power failure of the system. The alarm signal is time-delayed to prevent nuisance alarms.
