A method of deliquification of production wells includes placing an artificial lift tool in a gas wellbore, where the artificial lift tool includes a rack and multiple piezoelectric transducers. The rack includes multiple trays. Each piezoelectric transducer of the multiple piezoelectric transducers is positioned on a respective tray of the multiple trays. The method further includes providing, by a pump, a liquid on surfaces of the multiple piezoelectric transducers and providing, by a signal source, an electrical signal to the multiple piezoelectric transducers. The method also includes generating, by the multiple piezoelectric transducers, acoustic waves from the electrical signal, where at least some of the liquid provided to the multiple piezoelectric transducers is atomized by the acoustic waves.

Acoustic wellbore deliquification

The artificial lift system comprises a downhole tool suspended by a power conductive cable in a wellbore. The downhole tool comprises an atomizing chamber for conversion of the liquid into droplets having an average diameter less than or equal to 10,000 microns. Natural gas produced by a producing zone of the subterranean reservoir transports the vaporized liquid molecules to the well surface. In operation, the atomizing chamber is located above the liquid column in the wellbore.

Acoustic artificial lift system for gas production well deliquification

An acoustic artificial lift system and method for deliquification of gas production wells is provided. The artificial lift system comprises a down-hole acoustic tool suspended by a power conductive cable that converts electrical power to acoustic energy, thereby generating an acoustic wave. The acoustic tool is moved within the wellbore such that liquid molecules within the wellbore are vaporized by the acoustic wave. Natural gas produced by a producing zone of the subterranean reservoir transports the vaporized liquid molecules to the well surface.

A valve actuator, valve, and method of actuation of a valve are disclosed. The valve actuator includes a shape memory alloy element attachable to a valve body, capable of use with a valve to cause movement of the valve between first and second positions. The valve actuator also includes a sensor located within a well and capable of detecting the presence of a fluid based on a fluid property of the fluid. The valve actuator includes a power supply electrically connected to the sensor and the shape memory alloy element, capable of applying an electric current to the shape memory alloy element in response to the sensor detecting the presence of the fluid. The electric current causes a temperature of the shape memory alloy element to increase beyond a threshold temperature at which the shape memory alloy element actuates.

Gas-lift safety valve actuated by a sensor

A valve actuator, valve, and method of actuation of a valve are disclosed. The valve actuator includes a shape memory alloy element attachable to a valve body, capable of use with a valve to cause movement of the valve between first and second positions at a predetermined temperature and responsive to at least a threshold amount of temperature change of the shape memory alloy element. The valve actuator further includes an expansion element attached to the shape memory alloy element, the expansion element responsive to temperature changes at a rate lower than a rate of change of temperature indicative of a valve leak, the expansion element adjusting tension on the shape memory alloy element, thereby changing the predetermined temperature.

Apparatus for adjusting shape memory alloy transition temperatures to track slowly changing ambient temperature

A container for an oil can spout of the type having a lower can-piercing end and an upper pouring end. The container has a bottom, side walls structure and an open top, all dimensioned so that the spout is receivable by the container with its lower end down and its upper end adjacent the top of the container. Lid structure closes the container, but the lid is selectively movable to an open position to enable insertion and removal of the spout. A support is provided within the container for relatively tightly receiving the lower end of the spout and a bottom oil reservoir receives oil draining from the spout after use. The reservoir has an oil drain for draining oil from the reservoir. The container may be mounted in a vehicle or on any appropriate support by a bracket and strap device. A seal is used between the lid and the top of the container to prevent passage of dirt and oil.
