Experimental reality integrated system

The present invention discloses an improved method and device for the immersive display of three-dimensional images with convertible eyeglasses and wristwatch structures. An improved method for manufacturing a visual display incorporating a scanned light source and an improved method of presenting visual information are disclosed. Performance display system

A high performance, efficiency compact optical light beam and modifier system with reduced artifacts is presented. The design may incorporate a spiral entrance aperture with corresponding spiral masks where modification is accomplished by rotating the masks about the central axis relative to the entrance aperture. Light recapture or complex, continuous optics may be employed to increase the optical efficiency, reduce the physical dimensions, integrate condensing, or image projection functions in a reduced number of optical components.

Beam optics and color modifier system

A visual special effects display device is presented with a control mechanism which enables the unique control and programming of one or more devices simultaneously. The display device may be incorporated into tickets at public events, promotions, toys or other applications. In one embodiment the visual elements are constructed from LEDs and controlled by a combination of a remote transmitter and local switching mechanism. The display devices may be programmed in advance and assigned a unique code which permits the programming of specific images in a large audience. Messages, images and effects may be altered or permanantly programming at any time during the event. Designs include tickets, drink coasters, wands, swords, tops, yo-yos, frisbees, batons, hats, jump ropes and other toys.

Visual special effects display device

The image projector apparatus is the display of the two-dimensional; data-storage format by means of an imaging display which employs a moving screen and a matrix transformation thereby creating a three dimensional reconstruction of the object space.

Three-dimensional volumetric display system

A display device enclosure system for high contrast includes a display volume visible from all radial directions enclosed by a transparent light-polarizing material including perpendicular light-polarizing directions. The enclosure system provides a dark background for a moving screen or a plurality of illumination source placed inside the enclosure providing a display.

High contrast display device enclosure system using transparent light

A color changer system including a pair of slidable color filter plates or a pair of rotatable color filter disks positioned on opposed side of a beam aperture through which a beam of white light passes. The pair of filter plates or filter disks are simultaneously movable or rotatable, respectively, across the beam aperture orthogonal to the beam axis so as to enhance a particular color. The movement of the filter plates or disks are movable into the beam symmetrical to the center of the beam aperture so that distribution of color saturation of the beam is symmetrical about the center of the beam aperture during movement of said first and second color filter means. Progressive variable filtering regions defining a plurality of color enhancing capacities either included diffused color filtering material or dichroic color filtering material. When the dichroic color filtering material is used, alternating clear and dichroic filtering strips are located in each filtering region. When the pair filter plates or filter disks overlap, the clear and dichroic filtering strips of each pair complement so that the lightwaves of the beam are filtered through only one of the pair of plates or strips.

Symmetrical color changer system

A color changer system including a pair of slidable color filter plates or a pair of rotatable color filter disks positioned on opposed side of a beam aperture through which a beam of white light passes. The pair of filter plates or filter disks are simultaneously movable or rotatable, respectively, across the beam aperature orthogonal to the beam axis so as to enhance a particular color. The movement of the filter plates or disks are movable into the beam symmetrical to the center of the beam aperture so that distribution of color saturation of the beam is symmetrical about the center of the beam aperture during movement of said first and second color filter means. A color changer system mounted at the light beam emission end of a luminaire. The system includes a support frame secured to the housing and disposed transverse to the beam, a plurality of iris units each having a plurality of colored, translucent leaves rotatably attached to the support frame, and a circular control plate rotatably mounted to the support frame and having a control slot in which a thrust pin of each leaf is slidably movable and a control handle. The support frame and the control plate each have circular apertures with centers that are aligned with the beam axis. When the control plate is rotated, the leaves of each iris unit open or close in response to pressure against the thrust pin so as to control the coloring of the light beam. The leaves move inwardly from the periphery of the light beam towards the beam axis towards a closed position or move away from the beam axis so as to intercept all or a portion of the light beam to color the portion of the light beam passing through the intercepting leaves. The leaves of each iris unit each have a different color from the leaves of the other iris units, with the colors preferably including the primary colors of the spectrum. Mounting portions are connected to the rims of the translucent leaves. The leaves have inwardly extending walls that are aligned in the closed position of the system. The walls can be either linear or curved.

Color changer

A color changer system mounted at the light beam emission end of a luminaire. The system includes a support frame secured to the housing and disposed transverse to the beam, a plurality of iris units each having a plurality of colored, translucent leaves rotatably attached to the support frame, and a circular control plate rotatably mounted to the support frame and having a control slot in which a thrust pin of each leaf is slidably movable and a control handle. The present invention provides a light display system for projecting a double-pattern light display. A luminaire holding the lamp and light control devices and projecting a primary first light beam is fixed to a first housing that in turn is nonrotatably mounted to a control bar. A second housing containing a fixed reflector apparatus adapted to receive a light beam from the luminaire is connected to and rotatable relative to the first housing about a first axis. At least two mirrors fixed to the second housing are positioned at an angle relative to the first axis and receive portions of the first light beam as second light beams. The fixed mirrors are rotatable with the second housing about the first axis. The rotatable mirrors project the second light beams to at least two rotatable mirrors each associated with a fixed mirror and the rotatable mirrors project the second light beams as third light beams about a second axis transverse to the first axis. A tilt driver attached to the second housing rotates the rotatable mirrors about the second axis. Shafts radially extend from the tilt drivers along the second axis to the rotatable mirrors for rotation and support. The light beams are thus moved simultaneously about two axes so as to cast double patterned lights on the environment.

Low-inertial beam direction lighting system

The present invention provides a light display system for projecting a double-pattern light display. A luminaire holding the lamp and light control devices is fixed to a first housing that in turn is nonrotatably mounted mounted to a control bar. A second housing containing a fixed reflector apparatus adapted to receive the light beam from the luminaire is connected to and rotatable relative to the first housing about a first axis. The second housing contains a reflector rotatable about a second axis. The rotatable reflector receives the light beam from the fixed reflector apparatus and projects the beam in a geometric configuration, preferably a vertical plane that contains the first axis. A pan driver attached to the first housing rotates the second housing about the first axis by way of a gear and belt mechanism that is connected to a cylindrical mounting member attached to the second housing. The stationary luminaire directs the light beam through a cylindrical passage in the cylindrical mounting member. A tilt driver attached to the second housing rotates the rotatable mirror about the second axis, which is perpendicular to the first axis. A slip-ring connector connected to the cylindrical mounting member transmits electrical power from the power source to tilt driver. The light beam is thus moved simultaneously about two axes so as to cast a double patterned light on the environment.

A light control system operable by one hand for directing the movements of a luminaire rotatably movable to a plurality of liminaire positions about a Y-axis and an X-axis by a pan motor and a tilt motor, respectively. The control system includes a first disk rotatably mounted to a support panel and a second disk rototably mounted to the first disk at the axis of the first disk perpendicular to the first disk. Code markings such as code bars marked around the circumferential periphery of each disk are indexed to the desired movements of the luminaire by simultaneously processing signals from optical pickoffs for the first and second disks and transmitting the processed signals to the pan and tilt motors. The primary received signals are analog signals which are converted to digital signals. An operator knows the position of the luminaire by manual touch feedback relating to the positions of the first and second disks.
