According to some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless transmitter in a wireless communication network comprises: encoding a set of information carrying data bits u of length K with a linear outer code to generate a set of outer parity bits p along with the data bits u; interleaving the set of outer parity bits p and the data bits u using a predetermined interleaving mapping function that depends on the number of data bits K and is operable to distribute some bits of the set of parity bits p in front of some data bits u; and encoding the interleaved bits using a Polar encoder to generate a set of encoded bits x. Various interleaving mapping functions are disclosed.

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for enabling inter carrier interference compensation for interleaved mapping from virtual to physical resource blocks. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to determine to configure the first signal to be located at a subcarrier except at an edge sub-carrier of a resource block, RB; transmit the configuration of the first signal to the WD; and receive a physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, signaling and the first signal from the WD based at least in part on the determined configuration. According to certain embodiments, a method by a transmitter is provided for adaptively generating precoder bits for a Polar code. The method includes acquiring at least one configuration parameter upon which a total number of precoder bits depends. The at least one configuration parameter comprising at least one of an information block length K, a code block length N, and/or a code rate R=K/N. The total number of precoder bits is determined, and the precoder bits for a code block are generated according to the determined total number of precoder bits.
