A mounting bracket for securing one or a pair of article holders to a land or sea craft to facilitate the carrying of articles on the craft; the mounting bracket comprising a non-circular body with opposing flat surfaces and threaded holes extending centrally through the body; a V-notch at one end of the body extending into one flat face and holes through the body at opposite sides of the V-notch and a threaded bore in the end of the body remote from the V-notch; the threaded bores being adapted to reserve a shank of an article holder; and a channel member to fit co-operably over the non-circular body and to hold a pair of spaced apart article holders, while being secured to the body member by a bolt threaded into the body member.

A holding base system comprising a platform with an exteriorly splined post projecting therefrom and mounting means for securing the platform to a surface; an article holder having a splined inner wall on a bottom thereof to fit on and cooperate with the splined post and a top thereof shaped and constructed to secure an article to be supported, with the orientation of the supported article being determined by the relative positioning of the splined socket to the splined post.

A long gun carrying system for all terrain vehicles that incorporates a support structure that will mount on a rear deck or rack on an ATV and that will support a channel member to receive a soft gun case. The soft gun case is attached to the channel member and the soft gun case may be removed with a gun inside, from the channel member. A suspended article hold down system for suspending articles such as binoculars, cameras, and eyeglasses that are commonly attached to neck straps, by shoulder straps and then providing a hold down strap to extend across such an article suspended by the shoulder straps, the hold down strap being releasably connected to ends of underarm straps having opposite ends connected to the shoulder straps through a flat spreader at the back of a user of the system.

An article holder particularly for use with all-terrain vehicles and comprising bifurcated arms, with or without fins or other holding structures extending between the arms and a cushioning web between the arms at the junction of the arms to provide a cushion for an article to be held between the arms and to close the arms against an inserted article when the cushioning means is depressed and including a mounting base projecting from the junction of the arms and hooks on the outer sides of the arms to accommodate a resilient strap to be hooked over an inserted article.
