A server receives a consumer request from a client to access a product repository that is coupled to the server. The consumer request comprises an entitlement certificate and a uniform resource locator (URL). The server identifies at least one extended attribute object identifier in the entitlement certificate to determine whether the client is authorized to access the product repository. The at least one extended attribute object identifier has a corresponding URL in the entitlement certificate that specifies a location of the product repository that the client is authorized to access. The server grants the client access to the product repository based on a determination that the URL in the consumer request matches a URL in the entitlement certificate.

Using entitlement certificates to manage product assets

A method and system for software package auditing is described. A processing device receives user input that identifies one or more software packages to be included in a software product release. The one or more identified packages are imported into a package audit tool executable by the processing device and the package audit tool automatically validates that the imported packages comply with a set of one or more requirements specified for the software product release using the package audit tool.

Package audit tool

A server receives a consumer request pertaining to product asset management from a client. The consumer request comprises one or more product-related certificates that associates the client with one or more products. The product-related certificate comprises at least one extended attribute object identifier that has a corresponding product attribute. For each extended attribute object identifier, the server searches a data store to identify a product that corresponds to the extended attribute object identifier and generates a response to the consumer request based on the product that is identified in the data store.
