Methods and systems are described for increasing scalability in cooperative processing systems by reducing issues due to contention (e.g., waiting or queueing for shared resources) and coherency (e.g., delay for data to become consistent) using reciprocal delta tables. The system allows for both proposing and committing changes to a state table without the changes being executed on the state table via recording changes in a series of transactions with delta tables. By eliminating a need to wait for unlocking of a state table as changes are executed, downtime for a client will reduce and processing can be more efficient.

Systems and methods for scalable database technology

The device includes a wedge piece constructed for use in the non-surgical treatment of interproximal dental caries. A plunger is provided for driving substances through a passage in or on the wedge piece for enabling the delivery, to the site a carious lesion, of SDF or another substance that is effective for directly or indirectly killing, or biologically damaging, carious bacteria.

The device includes a shim component constructed for use in the non-surgical treatment of interproximal carious dental lesions. A plunger may be provided for driving substances through a tube-like channel or bore in the shim component, or an electromagnetic energy-transmissive material may fill the channel, in either case for delivering to the site of the lesion a medium that is effective for directly or indirectly killing, or biologically damaging, the carious bacteria.

Restricting access to a device includes obtaining a passphrase for a user, obtaining access credentials for the user, obtaining a PIN value for the user, one-way encrypting at least the access credentials and the PIN using a secret key provided with the device. The user is allowed access to the device if the result of one-way encrypting equals the passphrase. The user is denied access to the device if the result of one-way encrypting does not equal the passphrase. The device may be a storage device. The access credentials may include a username that identifies the user and may include a role for the user. The access credentials may include a time period for which access is allowed. Access may be subsequently revoked in response to the current date and time being greater than the time period for which access is allowed.

The fibril nap provides a framework for the growth and attachment of regenerating recipient connective tissue, and also serves as a barrier against epithelial invasion, which would otherwise tend to cause implant rejection.
