An integrated medication management and compliance system for enabling a care provider to remotely manage and deliver individual doses of therapeutic products to a patient, in a non-sequential fashion. The system includes delivery apparatus remotely located from the care provider, wherein the apparatus stores a plurality of sealed unit dose packages that are delivered to a patient at a scheduled dosing time. The delivery apparatus is coupled to a control facility and to a computer terminal of the care provider by way of a secure communications network. The system enables the patient's medication regimen to be remotely tailored in real-time to accommodate fluid medical conditions.

Integrated, non-sequential, remote medication management and compliance system

A medication carrier for administering individual doses of therapeutic products to a patient, in a non-sequential fashion. The medication carrier comprises a receptacle which stores individually sealed, unit dose packages in random order, allowing each unit dose package to be easily accessed and released in response to automated or manual extraction. The medication carrier includes an array of stalls and retaining means for securing the sealed unit dose packages within the stalls until a scheduled dosing time. The unit dose packages are oriented such that identifiers imprinted thereon can be easily read without removing the packages from the carrier.

A surgical lighthead includes a reflector, a lens coupled to the reflector, and a handle located adjacent the lens. The handle defines an air passage to facilitate installation of a shield over the handle. A lamp assembly includes a support and at least one bulb located on the support between the reflector and the lens. Tubes are mounted in an interior region of the lighthead between the reflector and the lens, and rods are configured to engage the support. Each rod extends through the support and into a corresponding tube. The rods include at least one threaded portion configured to secure the lamp assembly within the interior region. The rods are slidable relative to the tubes upon disengagement of the threaded portions of the rods to permit the lamp assembly to move out of the interior region of the lighthead. The rods include stops to prevent separation of the lamp assembly from the lighthead. A controller turns the bulb on and off and adjusts the intensity level of light emitted from the bulb. Spaced apart first and second displays are coupled to the controller. Each displays an indication of the intensity level of the bulb.

A surgical light apparatus comprising a lighthead coupled to an arm adapted for mounting to a surface of a surgical room, and wherein the lighthead has a sterile field at an outlet end thereon, and with a bulb located within the lighthead, a controller coupled to the bulb, and an actuator coupled to the controller to adjust an intensity of light of the bulb itself, and wherein the actuator is located in the sterile field on the lighthead.

An arm assembly for supporting a surgical lighthead of a surgical light apparatus. The arm assembly includes a first arm and a second arm pivotally coupled to the first arm about a main pivot axis. A rod extends within an interior region of the second arm. A link is coupled to the rod to the first arm for pivoting movement about a link pivot axis that is spaced apart from the main pivot axis. A spring extends within the interior region of the second arm. The spring exerts a force on the rod and the link to counterbalance the surgical lighthead. A space filler includes an outer cover coupled to the first arm and formed to include a first slot and an inner cover nested within the outer cover and formed to include a second slot.

A surgical lighthead is provided with an outer cover, an inner reflective component, and handles disposed in recesses in the outer cover. The handles do not extend substantially beyond the outer surface of the outer cover. The recesses in the outer cover are spaced apart from the inner component. The handles and recesses are formed by multi-component handle assemblies shrink fit to eliminate gaps in the seams between the components.

A surgical light apparatus includes a support arm assembly configured to couple a lighthead to a support surface such as a ceiling, a wall, or a stand. The arm assembly includes an upper arm, a lower arm pivotably coupled to the upper arm and a yolk coupled to the lower arm. The lighthead is pivotable with respect to the yolk which includes a task light. The task light coupled to the yolk assembly provides an auxiliary light source for the room when the surgical light is not in use.

An orthopedic table for supporting a patient in a desired position includes a support for the upper body of the patient and a support for the sacrum of the patient that move together transversely of the longitudinal axis of the table. The table permits positioning or repositioning of a patient on the table without causing the patient to experience undue physical trauma. The table affords convenient access by a surgeon to all parts of the patient's body. The table also permits improved examination of the patient's body with image-amplification equipment.

An assembly for permitting a sterile person to control adjustable equipment in a sterile field without contamination to the person or the field. The assembly includes a cover having two halves which can be folded together over the handle of the equipment in a closed position to isolate the handle from the sterile field. A flap on the cover isolates a control panel on the equipment from the sterile field. The assembly also includes a container in which the cover is sterilized and with which the cover is so applied to the handle following sterilization that the container provides a barrier against contamination of the exterior of the cover during such application. The container is structured to maintain the cover in a partially closed position and is adapted to be so deformed that the container can move the cover from the partially closed position to a closed position around the handle.

A device for indicating whether a container has been both exposed to a critical temperature and not subsequently opened which includes a housing, a temperature-sensitive member which assumes a first position and a second position within the housing, and a rigid member connected to the temperature sensitive member which moves into view when the temperature sensitive member assumes its second position upon exposure to a critical temperature, and moves out of view when the container is opened.
