A support device adapted for improving the ergonomic support for the arm and wrist and forearm of a user of computer-related input devices is provided. The support device may include a body interconnecting a base to two spaced apart wing supports oriented at latitudinal and longitudinal support angles relative to the supporting surface on which the devices slides. Each wing provides waterfall edges along its periphery. The void between the wing supports, the supine triangular shape, and the waterfall edges facilitates a more neutral position of the forearm and wrist supporting between the two wing supports, reducing pressure points there along, and avoiding direct pressure to the carpal tunnel canal and mid-forearm regions that house anatomical structures that may be impacted by high pressures. The latitudinal support angle can be adjusted.

Wrist and forearm support device

A device, system and method for remotely determining the temperature and orientation of at least one medium is provided. The device may form a body adapted to penetrate a medium, wherein the body houses a thermal sensor, an accelerometer sensor, a gyroscopic sensor, each electronically connected to a wireless transmitter extending from the body. The plurality of sensors may be adapted to determine the continuous temperature, relative position and orientation of the penetrated medium, all relative to time, while the wireless transmitter is adapted to transmit the plurality such determinations to at least one remote device. The resulting system enables a user to remotely monitoring a level of doneness for a plurality of media in terms of their respective temperatures, orientations, and positioning relative to the time spent on or in at least one heating element.

Device, system and method for determining the temperature and orientation of a medium

A device and method for diagnosing shorts and fault conditions in electrical circuits such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control circuits. The device includes a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) member to protect the electrical circuit from overcurrent conditions during diagnosis. The device also includes a light emitting diode (LED) and resistor electrically connected in parallel across the PTC member. An overcurrent condition causes the resistance of the PTC member to rise dramatically, creating a potential difference across the PTC member and lighting the LED. The invention also includes a method for locating a short in an HVAC control circuit using the short locating device.

Short circuit diagnostic tool

Mechanisms are provided for automatically removing tips from a pipette nozzle and/or for detecting the type of tip mounted to the nozzle. For detipping, mechanical energy is stored when the tip is mounted to the nozzle and is released when the tip is to be removed to facilitate removal thereof. A mechanism is preferably provided which limits the force with which the tip is mounted to the nozzle and an overforce mechanism may be provided to facilitate removal of a stuck tip. For detecting tip type, each tip type has a different base configuration which results in a different relative displacement between the nozzle and a surrounding component as a result of the tip contacting both during tip mounting, the difference in relative displacement being detected to identify tip type.

Automatic pipette detipping

A device and method for protection of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control circuits. The device includes a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) member which is a multi-use, non-bulky, element which will reset after tripping without requiring the user to access the device. The device also includes a pair of connective members to provide the external electrical interface for the device, such that the PTC member is disposed between and in electrical contact with the connective members. Each embodiment also includes a protective member covering portions of the PTC member and connective members chosen or formed sufficient to insulate a user from contact with electrical hazard and sufficient to protect the device from electrical and physical contact which would affect its performance or the performance of the HVAC control circuit to be protected. In alternative embodiments the connective members are configured as either a pair of parallel coplanar blades electrically and mechanically compatible with common blade-type fuse receptacles found in HVAC control circuits, a pair of insulated lead wires of sufficient length to allow a tradesman skilled in the art to splice the circuit protection device into an HVAC control circuit to be protected. In a further alternative embodiment of the present invention, the connective members and the protective member are collectively configured electrically and mechanically compatible with common screw-type fuse receptacles found in HVAC control circuits. The invention also includes three methods for protecting an HVAC control circuit from overcurrents. These methods generally consist of the steps of (1) providing a circuit protection device of the present invention and (2) installing the device in the circuit to be protected in a fashion appropriate to its construction.

Device and method for protection of heating ventilation and air

A portable biofeedback apparatus and method for simultaneously gathering information regarding more than one type of musculoskeletal stress. The apparatus has at least two different types of user-selectable sensors for converting different kinds of musculoskeletal activities into electrical signals. An analog-to-digital converter samples the electrical signals at predetermined rates. A memory receives and stores the digital signals. A processor centrally controls the collection, sampling, display and transmittal of the digital data. Magnitudes of the digital signals are simultaneously and in real-time graphically portrayed as a function of time.

Portable electronic data collection apparatus for monitoring

A voltage surge suppression system for the protection of electronic equipment from damage from voltage surges and voltage transients has at least one metal oxide varistor electrically connected to a primary power source; a transformer; at least one second metal oxide varistor electronically connected between said transmission interceptor and a power circuit board; and a circuit opener electronically connected between the a transformer and power circuit board; wherein the a transformer is connected between the primary power source and second metal oxide varistor. The circuit opener is a resettable breaker for protecting the transformer from surges greater than the rated value of the second metal oxide varistor by opening in order to close off current flow.
