An articulated work vehicle includes a front portion including a front set track assemblies, a rear portion including a rear set track assemblies, a power source installed in the front portion, a transmission installed in the front portion, a use mode, and a service mode. In the used mode, the rear portion is pivotally connected to the front portion and the transmission is operably connected to the power source, the front set of track assemblies, and the rear set of track assemblies. In the service mode, the rear portion is disconnected from the front portion, the transmission is disconnected from the front set of track assemblies, the transmission is removed from the front portion, and the transmission remains pivotally connected to the rear portion.

Apparatus and method of removing a transmission from an articulated work vehicle

Techniques and/or systems are disclosed for an implement attachment assembly for a work vehicle. The implement attachment assembly includes a member having a body extending longitudinally between a first end and a second end. The first end includes a central axis disposed at a first height relative to a member vertical axis and the second end includes a central axis disposed at a second height relative to the member vertical axis. The first end central axis is operably disposed at a different height than the second end central axis. The first end is configured to operably connect to the work vehicle. The second end is configured to operably connect to a coupling device.

Implement attachment assembly and method of use

A track tension system including a hydraulic cylinder coupled between a drive frame and idler of a track system, an accumulator and a hydraulic valve that controls flow between the cylinder and accumulator. The cylinder extends and retracts to change the distance between the drive frame and idler which increases and decreases, respectively, tension on the track system. The hydraulic valve can be opened to allow flow between the cylinder and accumulator, and closed to block flow between the cylinder and accumulator. Control factors can be monitored to control valve position. An overload pressure relief can allow flow between the cylinder and accumulator when the hydraulic valve is closed and pressure in the cylinder reaches overload pressure. An orifice can allow constricted flow between the cylinder and accumulator when the hydraulic valve is closed. A check valve can connect the track tension system to a vehicle hydraulic system.

Track tension control

Steering a vehicle in an electronic steering mode of operation that includes a front axle steering system, a rear axle steering system, one or more vehicle environment sensors, and a controller operatively coupled with the front axle steering system, the rear axle steering system, and the vehicle environment sensors. Commanding the vehicle to operate at a desired vehicle speed, detecting a lateral force acting on the vehicle in response to input from the vehicle environment sensors, and determining an actual lateral acceleration of the vehicle and a predicted lateral acceleration of the vehicle from the desired vehicle speed. Determining a lateral acceleration error by comparing the predicted lateral acceleration to the actual lateral acceleration, and determining if the lateral acceleration error exceeds a lateral acceleration limit, then turning both of the front axle steering system and the rear axle steering system to a crab steering correction angle.

A work vehicle includes a chassis, a prime mover configured to move the chassis along a ground surface, and a suspension assembly that couples a wheel to the chassis. The suspension assembly includes a knuckle coupled to the wheel, a first suspension arm, and a suspension cylinder. The first suspension arm includes a first portion rotatably coupled to the chassis and a second portion extending away from the first portion and coupled to the knuckle. The suspension cylinder is rotatably coupled to the chassis and to a second suspension arm. The first suspension arm and the suspension cylinder are each configured to pivot relative to the chassis about a common pivot axis.

An undercarriage assembly for a tracked vehicle with a prime mover that provides a torque to the tracked vehicle, a final drive sprocket configured to provide a final drive torque on a track, a transmission mechanically coupled to the prime mover and the final drive sprocket to selectively transfer at least some of the torque generated by the prime mover to the final drive sprocket, at least one idler wheel that contacts the track, and an electric motor that provides an idler torque to the at least one idler wheel. Wherein, torque is distributed to the track through both the final drive sprocket and the idler wheel.

Power distribution through undercarriage idler wheels

A wheel assembly has a rim with an outer radial surface. A tire coupled to the rim defines a first interior region between the outer radial surface and the tire. A bladder coupled to the rim defines a second interior region between the outer radial surface and the bladder. A third interior region is defined between the bladder and the tire. The wheel assembly includes a valve fluidly coupled to the second interior region and the third interior region. The valve is movable between a first position and a second position. The second interior region and the third interior region are fluidly isolated from one another when the valve is in the first position. The second interior region and the third interior region may be fluidly coupled to one another when the valve is in the second position.

A telescopic axle assembly includes a knuckle housing pivotally mounted to a vehicle frame. The knuckle housing projects therefrom. A rotary drive shaft extends through the knuckle housing and the sleeve. A first wheel hub housing is slidably coupled to the knuckle housing and has a bore which slidably receives the sleeve. A second wheel hub housing is rotatably mounted to the first wheel hub housing. A transmission transmits torque between the drive shaft and the second wheel hub housing. Hydraulic cylinders move the wheel hub housings with respect to the knuckle housing and the drive shaft.

Telescopic wheel hub

A draft sensing mechanism for a three point hitch includes a hitch frame attached to a frame of a vehicle. The hitch frame includes left and right link supports for coupling to left and right draft links and left and right draft bars. Each draft bar has a first portion attached to a corresponding one of the link supports, and a second portion positioned rearwardly and inwardly with respect to its first portion. Draft forces applied by the draft links to the link supports are transmitted to the second portions of the draft bars. A linkage unit sums the draft forces from the draft bars and includes a draft force transducer which generates a draft force signal in response to deflection of the draft bars.

Three point hitch draft sensing system

A debris guard is provided for an assembly having a variable length cylinder coupled to a housing. The cylinder has a barrel pivotally coupled to the housing and a rod which extends and retracts with respect to The barrel. The debris guard includes a body of flexible material filling a space between the barrel and the wall of the housing and preventing debris from entering the space. The body compresses as the barrel moves toward the housing wall and expands as the barrel moves away from the housing wall. The body of flexible material is bonded to a surface of the barrel and to the wall of the housing. The flexible material is molded and comprises a closed cell elastomeric material.

Debris guard

A vehicle cooling package has a fan shroud mounted to a heat exchanger assembly. A diverter plate is mounted adjacent to the shroud and spaced therefrom with a fan interposed therebetween. A diverting surface of the shroud and the diverter plate are angled from the axis of the fan when the shroud and plate are assembled to the vehicle. A vehicle hood has upper and side surfaces each having air discharge apertures corresponding with the space between the diverting surface and the diverter plate when the hood is closed. The diverting surface and the diverter plate both extend fully to the hood assembly when the hood is closed. The angles of the diverting surface and the diverter plate closely match a natural discharge angle of the fan, so that air is discharged from the fan at a high velocity from under the hood through the air discharge apertures.

Vehicle cooling package

A variable fan drive for a vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine is provided. A drive side assembly utilizes a hydraulic actuator to actuate a variable sheave assembly. The variable sheave assembly drives a sheave assembly of a driven side assembly by way of a v-belt. The hydraulic actuator has a piston coupled to the variable sheave assembly. The piston is hydraulically translated by pressurized engine oil from the internal combustion engine. An electronically controlled solenoid valve controlled by an engine or vehicle controller selectively controls the flow of engine oil for piston actuation. Thus the speed of the fan can be controlled based on various engine or vehicle operating parameters.

Large row crop tractor hood

A suspended drive axle and agricultural tractor having same including a central housing having inboard final drives and left and right axle housing suspended therefrom by upper and lower control arms with axle shafts extending outwardly therefrom to which wheel and tire assemblies are mounted. A constant velocity universal joint is provided between the inboard final drives and the axle shafts. The universal joint having a pair of journal members and a coupling yoke that radially surround the drive and driven yokes of the joint whereby the axial length of the universal joint is minimized to enable the wheels to be located on the axle shafts at 60 inch tread spacing. This allows the drive axle to be used on a row crop tractor without altering the structure of the vehicle from a conventional row crop tractor whereby the characteristics of a row crop tractor are maintained.
