Systems and methods for monitoring an operational system. A data set with output power values and associated environmental data values for an electrical generation system are accumulated. Statistical relationships are determined for output power values and environmental data values. Outlying data is determined based on the statistical relationships and are removed from the data set to create selected data. A regression model is developed from the selected data to map predicted output power values to values of environmental data. Data with present output power values and present associated environmental data for the electrical generation system are later received. Predicted output power values are predicted by the regression model for the present associated environmental data. An output power discrepancy is identified by comparing the predicted output power to the present output power. A notification of an anomaly is provided based on identification of the output power discrepancy.

Adaptive system monitoring using incremental regression model development

A system and method is disclosed for calculating potential power generation for a wind farm, the wind farm including a plurality of wind turbines. The system and method include measuring the power generated by the wind farm; acquiring turbine data from at least a subset of the plurality of wind turbines, the wind turbine data including local wind speed and power generated at the local wind speed; acquiring wind resource data for the wind farm, the wind resource data including wind speed; generating a power curve from the turbine data and the wind resource data, the power curve plotting the relationship between wind speed and power generated; calculating power lost due to availability, subcurve, and curtailment, the power loss calculated for at least said subset of turbines; and aggregating the power lost in order to determine an aggregate power loss for the wind farm.

Wind farm prediction of potential and actual power generation

Enhanced meteorological measure-correlate-predict systems and methods. The systems and methods preferably consider publicly available, long-term data sets at each of a plurality of locations nearby a potential wind farm location. A test tower is preferably located at the potential location to collect a shorter-term data set, which, in combination with the long-term data set, is used to correlate and train embodiments of the systems and methods of the present invention using computational learning systems. Longer-term data can then be predicted for the potential wind farm location based on the correlation.

System and method for enhanced measure-correlate-predict for a wind farm location

A system for presenting meteorological information uses a browser interface to access massive amounts of weather-related data in the form of images stored on the server-side of the system. A user having a common browser on a Web client accesses the server-side information to selectively assemble weather-related data on multiple overlays of images and/or graphics into one simultaneous presentation on a Web page. The different overlays are normalized with respect to time and space, and a user can separately generate graphically miniaturized presentations of weather-related data for saving and subsequently recalling each presentation, wherein each presentation is displayed with current relativized data. The user can also select or customize derived variables to be distinctively displayed as part of a presentation.
